Neuss–Viersen Railway
The Neuss–Viersen railway is a mostly disused railway line in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It formerly ran from Neuss via Kaarst and Neersen to Viersen, but now ends in Kaarst. Most of the line still in operation is a single track and non-electrified branch line. A shorter section, however, is operated as part of the Duisburg-Ruhrort–Mönchengladbach line and is a two-track, electrified mainline railway. Viersen (district)
Viersen () is a Kreis (district) in the west of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Neighboring districts are Cleves, Wesel, district-free Krefeld, Neuss, district-free Mönchengladbach, Heinsberg and the Dutch province of Limburg. History In 1816, the new Prussian government created the district of ''Kempen''. Originally belonging to the Regierungsbezirk Kleve which was dissolved in 1822, Kempen has since then belonged to Düsseldorf. In 1929 the district was enlarged significantly and renamed ''Kempen-Krefeld''. In 1975 the district again changed its borders and was renamed ''Viersen'' even though Kempen remained the capital. Venlo Railway Station
Venlo railway station is located in Venlo, the Netherlands. It is situated on the Maastricht–Venlo railway, the Viersen–Venlo railway, the Venlo–Eindhoven railway and the Nijmegen–Venlo railway. The first station in Venlo was opened on November 21, 1865. The current building dates from 1958 and is a typical Dutch station of the post-war era, featuring a clock tower and a large canopy spanning the front of the station. The Talent is a multiple unit railcar manufactured by Bombardier that was developed by Waggonfabrik Talbot in Aachen shortly before the company was acquired by Bombardier in 1995. The Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn (german: S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr) is a polycentric and electrically driven S-train network covering the Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan Region in the German federated state of North Rhine-Westphalia. S28 (Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn)
The S28 ''Regiobahn'' is a S-Bahn line in the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn network. It is operated by '' Transdev Rheinland GmbH'' as a subcontractor of '' Regiobahn Fahrbetriebsgesellschaft mbH'' (''Regiobahn'' for short), who is the PSO operator on behalf of Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR). The line begins in Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof, then uses the branch line via Mettmann Stadtwald; then it runs through Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof branching off to Kaarst after passing through Neuss Hauptbahnhof. Its western terminus is Kaarster See. The line is operated using Integral S5D95 DMUs at 20-minute intervals, with only two trains an hour running between Mettmann and Wuppertal.
