Nestlé Tex
Nestlé Tex, stylised as TEX, is a South African candy bar made by Nestlé. Overview Tex was created in around 1955 by Rowntree's, and first sold in Canada (around the same time as Coffee Crisp). The bar combines the aerated chocolate of Aero with the wafers of a Kit Kat, and is covered in milk chocolate. Rowntree's launched Tex to the South African market in 1956, where it had more success and is still sold to this day. Rowntree's was later acquired by Nestlé, and now Tex is under the Nestlé brand. Tex was later discontinued in Canada, but is still available via import shops catering to South African expats. As of February 2015, Tex weighed 40 grams. It is easy to spot with its yellow wrapper. Rowntree's
Rowntree's is a British confectionery brand and former business based in York, England. Rowntree developed the Kit Kat (introduced in 1935), Aero (introduced in 1935), Fruit Pastilles (introduced in 1881), Smarties (introduced in 1937) brands, and the Rolo and Quality Street brands when it merged with Mackintosh's in 1969 to form Rowntree Mackintosh Confectionery. Rowntree's also launched After Eight thin mint chocolates in 1962. The Yorkie and Lion bars were introduced in 1976. Rowntree's also pioneered the festive selection box (a gift consisting of assorted bars and sweets) which in the UK have been a staple gift at Christmas for over a century. Coffee Crisp
Coffee Crisp is a chocolate bar made in Canada. It consists of alternating layers of vanilla wafer and a foamed coffee-flavoured soft candy, covered with a milk chocolate outer layer. Originally launched by British company Rowntree's, it is currently owned and commercialized by Nestlé. Kit Kat
Kit Kat (stylised as KitKat in various countries) is a chocolate-covered wafer bar confection created by Rowntree's of York, United Kingdom, and is now produced globally by Nestlé (which acquired Rowntree's in 1988), except in the United States, where it is made under licence by the H. B. Reese Candy Company, a division of the Hershey Company (an agreement Rowntree's first made with Hershey in 1970). The standard bars consist of two or four pieces composed of three layers of wafer, separated and covered by an outer layer of chocolate. Each finger can be snapped from the bar separately. Mekupelet ( he, מקופלת) (sold in English-speaking markets as Chocolate Log) is a bar of thinly folded milk chocolate produced in Israel since 1935 by Elite, now a subdivision of the Strauss Group. The Hebrew name means "folded". It is known for its crumbliness and thin flakes and has been compared to the British chocolate bar known as Cadbury Flake. Mekupelet is exported to overseas markets. Peppermint Crisp is a milk chocolate bar filled with a multitude of thin cylinders of mint-flavoured 'cracknel' (which is a brittle crystalline/sugar concoction extruded in fine hollow tubes).
