Nerds By Nature
''Nerds by Nature'' is the fifth extended play by electronic duo Pegboard Nerds. Nerds by Nature was released on 13 January 2017, by independent electronic music label Monstercat. Background and composition When announcing Nerds by Nature, Odden and Parsberg stated “We are very excited for this release! It went back and forth from being an EP and an album but ultimately we ended up with an EP as we felt that would be a stronger package. We’re stoked to have people finally hear the tracks in their full glory”. Reception and release Nerds by Nature gained generally positive reviews with Cameron Sunkel of EDM.com stating "there's perhaps no better time to be a fan, as this EP truly has something to offer everyone". Landon Fleury of YourEDM stated "Though ''Nerds by Nature'' contains much of the duo’s highest quality material, this clumsy disorganization makes the EP difficult to enjoy as a solid body of work". Pegboard Nerds
Pegboard Nerds is a Scandinavian electronic music group, consisting of Norwegian DJ Alexander Odden and Danish DJ Michael Parsberg. The name Pegboard Nerds is an anagram of the duo's surnames, Odden and Parsberg. The duo first met in 2005 and formed the group in 2011. Previously, their records were released under separate projects and both have been producing since the 1990s. On 21 October 2015, the duo released ''Pink Cloud'' to fund breast cancer research which went to number 2 on iTunes Dance Albums, and into the Top 10 on ''Billboard'' Dance albums. In 2015, their collaboration with Jauz, a single titled "Get on Up", was one of the top bass house songs of the year. "Superstar" with Nghtmre and Krewella was the number 1 dubstep song on the Beatport Dubstep Charts of May 2016 and peaked at 28 on ''Billboard''s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart in October 2016. Christian Valentin "Val" Brunn (born 20 July 1994), better known by his stage name Virtual Riot, is a German DJ and electronic music producer. He has released seventeen extended plays and two studio albums, most notably his 2016 extended play ''Chemistry'', which peaked at 20 on ''Billboard's'' Dance/Electronic Albums charts and his 2018 extended play ''German Engineering'', which peaked on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart at the No. 11 position. Matthew Lee (born 1985 in Northampton), known professionally by his stage name Gammer, is an English music producer and DJ. He is best known for his association with UK hardcore, of which he is described as an icon. He is also the co-founder of the Together We Rise record label, which is dedicated to hardcore music. Biography Regarded as one of the most prolific producers in the United Kingdom hardcore scene, Gammer initially began his musical career as a hard dance producer before switching to hardcore. He has also produced many UK hardcore songs under the name Matt Lee. One track in particular, ''Go'', caught the attention of Andy Whitby, who signed him to AWsum. Gammer first appeared in the hardcore scene in 2002 and has since released songs under the Essential Platinum label. Andrew John Clarke (born 7 April 1976) is a British DJ and record producer and is co-founder of RAM Records, a pioneering label in the drum and bass genre. Music career Early years Andy C was a DJ in his own right but gained a strong reputation and more bookings off the back of the successful "Valley of the Shadows" track, an early drum and bass track that walked the line perfectly between hardcore and drum and bass just as the genres were starting to split.
