Impulsora del Deportivo Necaxa S.A. de C.V. (); often simply known as Necaxa, is a Mexican professional football club in Liga MX based in the city of Aguascalientes. It plays in the Estadio Victoria. History Foundation (Light and Power Company, ''Luz y Fuerza'') (1899–1920) Necaxa was founded on 21 August 1923 by Scotsman William H. Fraser, an engineer and owner of the Light and Power Company (''Compañía de Luz y Fuerza'') in the state of Puebla. As a student in the United Kingdom Fraser played football and was a strong advocate for the sport. Fraser consolidated the teams of the Light and Power Company and the Street Car operators ''Compañia de Luz y Fuerza and Tranvías'' into one. Fraser supported the newly merged team with company revenue and funds. 2022–23 Liga MX Season
The 2022–23 Liga MX season (known as the Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons) is the 76th professional season of the top-flight football league in Mexico. The season will be divided into two championships—the Apertura 2022 and the Clausura 2023—each in an identical format and each contested by the same eighteen teams. With the 2022 FIFA World Cup commencing on 20 November, the Apertura 2022 second leg final will be on 30 October. Stadiums and locations The Estadio Azteca will be closed from 2023 to 2025 due to renovations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Although the project was anticipated to begin in the winter of 2023, the renovations were postponed for the summer of 2023. Copa México
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship. The Liga Mexicana de Fútbol Amateur Association, known as the Primera Fuerza, was an amateur football league founded in Mexico in 1902 with five clubs: " Orizaba A.C.", " Pachuca A.C.", " Reforma A.C.", "Mexico Cricket Club" and " British Club". Orizaba won the league in its inaugural year. A total of 37 teams took part in this league from 1902 until 1943, when football in Mexico went professional. Necaxa River
The Necaxa River (''Río Necaxa'') is one of the main rivers of the Mexican state of Puebla. It is a tributary of the Tecolutla River. Beginning south of Huauchinango with the name Totolapa, it runs through tall mountains and deep canyons of the Sierra Madre Oriental, forming the waterfalls known as Salto Chico y Salto Grande. Its flow is also used to generate hydroelectric power. Geography The Necaxa River rises along the boundary of Hidalgo and Puebla states, and flows eastwards through the Sierra Madre Oriental of Puebla and Veracruz. It joins the Apulco River in Espinal, Veracruz to form the Tecolutla River, which empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Estadio Victoria is sports stadium in the Mexico, Mexican city of Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes. The stadium opened in 2003 and has a Seating capacity, capacity of 23,000 seats. Although the stadium is capable of multi-use, its main use is for soccer games. Andrés Luciano Lilini (born August 13, 1974 in Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz) is an Argentine former professional Association football, footballer and current manager of Club Necaxa, Necaxa. Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes (English: “Sports City Stadium”; formerly Estadio Azul) is a 33,000-seat stadium located in Ciudad de los Deportes, Mexico City. This sports facility is used for association football matches and for American football as well. The Tazón México has been played at the stadium. It was the home of Mexican football club Cruz Azul until 2018, hence the previous nickname of ''Estadio Azul'', and the Mexico national football team, especially in the early 1990s. In summer 2016, it was announced by Mexico City authorities that plans to demolish the stadium would begin at the end of the 2017-2018 Liga MX season.
