The Opposition Bloc "Ne Tak", (; ) is a former pro-Russian political alliance in Ukraine. One of the leaders of the alliance was Viktor Medvedchuk. Background The coalition formed in the Ukrainian parliament at the beginning of 2004 with the participation of the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (united) and the Party of Regions has already then it also focused on the general participation in the elections of people's deputies of the Verkhovna Rada in 2006. In the spring of 2005, as N. Shufrych, despite the fact that most of the regional organizations of the SDPU(u) supported the independent participation of the party in the elections, it was decided to go as part of a bloc in which the SDPU(u) saw the Party of Regions of Ukraine as its main ally. Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Omelchenko ( uk, Олександр Олександрович Омельченко; 9 August 1938 – 25 November 2021) was a Ukrainian politician who served as mayor of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, first elected in 1999. Running for a third term he lost his re-election bid in March 2006. Omelchenko was also a People's Deputy of Ukraine from 2007 to 2012. Omelchenko was the President of both the Association of the Cities of Ukraine and the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine (1997–2006). In 2001, he bought FC CSKA Kyiv from the Ministry of Defense and transformed it into FC Arsenal Kyiv. Yevhen Petrovych Kushnaryov ( uk, Євген Петрович Кушнарьов, ) (January 29, 1951 – January 17, 2007) was a prominent Ukrainian politician of the post-Soviet era. Kushnaryov was considered one of the chief ideologues of the Party of Regions and a key ally of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. Early life Yevhen Kushnaryov was born in Kharkiv to migrants from Russia in 1951.
