Nazeer Abbasi
Nazeer Abbasi () (b. April 10, 1953 — d. August 9, 1980) was the youngest member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Pakistan. He was tortured to death on August 9, 1980 in government of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq while in the custody of FIU Field Intelligence Unit of Pakistan Army. His family has accused former ISI operative Brigadier Imtiaz Ahmed Billa of torturing and killing Abbasi while in his custody, and Billa has admitted this in a TV interview. Early life Abbasi was born to Jan Muhammad Abbasi and Qamar-ul-Nisa in Tando Allahyar, Sindh, Pakistan on April 10, 1953. After completing his intermediate education, he Started working at Municipal Committee Tando Allahyar and Organized a Union of Municipal Workers. Sindhis ( sd, سنڌي Perso-Arabic: सिन्धी Devanagari; ) are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the province of Sindh in Pakistan. After the partition of British Indian empire in 1947, many Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi Sikhs migrated to the newly independent Dominion of India and other parts of the world. There were series of federal investigations led by the FIA and federal prosecution trials conducted by the specialized military courts in which the leaders of the communist and socialist parties were accused of plotting to overthrow the military government in order to install a socialist system. Sohail Sangi ( sd, سهيل سانگي) is a senior journalist and activist of the leftist movement in Pakistan, presently working with the daily newspaper ''Dawn''. He is one of the visiting faculty of the Mass Communication Department at the University of Sindh. Early life Sohail Sangi was born in village Janjhi of Tharparkar district, Pakistan in 1953. He did his M.A in English from University of Sindh Jamshoro in the 1970s.
