Nawawi Ahmad
Dato' Ir. Haji Nawawi bin Ahmad (3 May 1961 – 28 November 2022) was a Malaysian politician and engineer who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Langkawi from May 2013 to May 2018, Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Menteris Besar Syed Razak Syed Zain Barakbah and Mahdzir Khalid from March 2004 to March 2008 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kuah from March 2004 to May 2013. A member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), he was the Division Chief of UMNO of Langkawi. Controversy In 2014, Nawawi apologised to the family of Karpal Singh, a leading opposition politician who had died in a car accident, for posting photos of Karpal's corpse on Facebook. The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and several provinces in Indonesia regularly award honorary and life titles. What follows in this article is specific to the Malaysian system. Ahmad Bashah bin Md Hanipah is a Malaysian politician. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party in Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was the Menteri Besar of Kedah from 4 February 2016 to 10 May 2018. He was appointed as Menteri Besar after Mukhriz Mahathir agreed to step down after losing majority support in the state assembly. Ahmad Bashah was sworn in as Menteri Besar of Kedah the day after Mukhriz resigned, on February 4, 2016. Following his appointment as Menteri Besar, Ahmad Bashah resigned as the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism and as a Senator. The National Concord ( ms, Muafakat Nasional; abbrev: MN) was a Malaysian political coalition that was formed between the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) against the then-ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition which had came into power after the 2018 Malaysian general election (GE14). The National Alliance ( ms, Perikatan Nasional; abbrev: PN) is a political coalition composed of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (GERAKAN). This coalition was preceded by the Malaysian Party Alliance Association, also known as the ''Persatuan Perikatan Parti Malaysia (PPPM)''. Sanusi bin Junid (July 10, 1943 – March 9, 2018) was a Malaysian politician. He was appointed Minister of National and Rural Development in 1981 at the age of 38 and as Minister of Agriculture in 1986. Tan Sri Sanusi was seventh Menteri Besar of Kedah from 1996 to 1999. Malaysian United Indigenous Party
The Malaysian United Indigenous Party ( ms, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia), abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM, is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia (). Pakatan Harapan
The Alliance of Hope ( ms, Pakatan Harapan; abbrev: PH; stylized as HARAPAN) is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
