Monte Velino
Monte Velino is a mountain (2,487 m) in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, central Italy, part of the Abruzzo Apennines. Located nearby the boundary with Lazio, between the Fucino plain and the Aterno, Salto and Velino rivers' valleys, it is the highest peak in the Sirente-Velino Regional Park, the highest point in the Tiber basin, and the third highest peak in the whole Apennines. Monte Sirente
Monte Sirente is a mountain in Abruzzo, central Italy, the highest peak (at 2,349 m) of a small chain extending for c. 13 km from the Altopiano delle Rocche, the Marsica and the Valle Subequana, ending to the Fucino plain. It is part of the Sirente-Velino Regional Park. The northern side of Sirente is characterized by deep gorges created by glaciers during the last Pleistocene glaciation. Piani Di Pezza
The Piani di Pezza is a glacial-karstic-alluvial plain in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, central Italy. It is part of the Sirente-Velino Regional Park, located at an altitude of 1400/150 m above the sea level. The plain measures some 5.5 x 3 km, and is surrounded by the Velino-Sirente chain. Campo Felice
Campo Felice is a karstic plateau in the central Apennines, included in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, central Italy. Included in the communal territories of Lucoli and Rocca di Cambio, in the Sirente-Velino Regional Park, it is geographically bounded by the Velino-Sirente chain, with the other plains of Piani di Pezza and Altopiano delle Rocche located nearby. Campo Felice is situated at some 1500 m above the sea level, and has the shape of a basin. Vegetation is scarce, mostly composed by beech woods in the surrounding mountains slopes.
