Nattali Rize
Nattali Rize (born Natalie Magdalena Chilcote) is an Australian-born, Jamaican-based musician, record producer and social activist. In 2003, as Natalie Pa'apa'a, on lead vocals and lead guitar, she was joined by her domestic partner, Carlo Santone, on bass guitar and percussion, to form Blue King Brown, an urban roots ensemble, in Byron Bay. She relocated to Jamaica in mid-2014, adopted her new performance name and in March 2015 collaborated with local group, Notis, to issue a single, "Rebel Love". It was followed by a nine-track extended play, ''New Era Frequency'' (7 August 2015). Rize's first solo album, ''Rebel Frequency'', was released in March 2017. She issued a single, "Rebel Love", in collaboration with local group, Notis; it was co-written by Rize, Wayne Thompson, Patterson, Sellton and Wels. They toured the US in support of Michael Franti. Blue King Brown
Blue King Brown are an Australian urban roots ensemble formed in 2003 in Byron Bay by mainstays Nattali Rize and Carlo Santone. They have released three studio albums, ''Stand Up'' (October 2006), ''Worldwize Part 1 – North & South'' (August 2010) – which reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 50 – and ''Born Free'' (November 2014). They have toured nationally and internationally; and supported concerts by Santana, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Damian Marley, the John Butler Trio, the Cat Empire, Silverchair, Dispatch and Powderfinger. Byron Bay Bluesfest
The Byron Bay Bluesfest, formerly the East Coast International Blues & Roots Music Festival, is an annual Australian music festival that has been held over the Easter long weekend in the Byron Bay, New South Wales, area since 1990. The festival features a large selection of blues and roots performers from Australia and around the world and is one of the world's leading contemporary music festivals. The festival was founded by Dan Doeppel and Kevin Oxford in 1990 and is run by Peter Noble who joined Oxford for the 1994 event. It has been held at several locations in and around Byron Bay and is currently held at Tyagarah, north of Byron Bay town. Playing For Change is a multimedia music project, featuring musicians and singers from across the globe, co-founded in 2002 by American Grammy award-winning music producer/engineer and award-winning film director Mark Johnson and film producer/philanthropist Whitney Kroenke. Playing For Change also created in 2007 a separate non-profit organization called the Playing For Change Foundation, which builds music and art schools for children around the world.
