() is a song by Japanese band Sakanaction. It was released on January 7, 2009 as a digital single from the band's third album '' Shin-shiro''. Its accompanying music video directed by Yuichi Kodama was a critical success, winning the best conceptual video award at the 2010 Space Shower Music Video Awards. In 2010, the song was remixed by electronic musician Rei Harakami for inclusion on the band's "Aruku Around" single. This would become one of Harakami's final releases before his death in July 2011. Background and development After releasing two albums based in Hokkaido under the BabeStar Label sublabel of Victor Entertainment, Sakanaction signed a contract with management group Hipland Management and joined the main Victor Entertainment band roster, moving from Hokkaido to Tokyo in the spring of 2008. Fantastic Plastic Machine is the stage name of , a Japanese musician and DJ born in Kyoto, Japan. Tanaka was considered to be part of the Shibuya-kei movement. History In the late 1980s, Tanaka played as the bassist in a rock band called Margarine Strikes Back. Then in the early 1990s, Tanaka became a regular club DJ in the Kansai area, working as part of a DJ team known as Sound Impossible. () is a song by Japanese band Sakanaction. Commissioned by the design school Mode Gakuen for commercials starring Jonte' Moaning, it was released as a single on August 29, 2012. A high tempo song with elements of dance, pop and rock, "Yoru no Odoriko" has a progressive structure that builds for over two minutes before reaching the song's chorus. The band took elements from their previous compositions for the song, in order to create something that would express Sakanaction's entire story to their newly found audience. Critics in Japan responded very positively to the song, believing it showed off an essential identity and style of Sakanaction's music.
