National Youth Orchestra Of The Netherlands
The National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO, nl, Nationaal Jeugdorkest) is the national youth orchestra of the Netherlands, founded in 1957. It consists of young musicians between 18 and 26 years of age. It has appeared with conductors including Philippe Herreweghe, Iván Fischer, Jaap van Zweden, Reinbert de Leeuw and Oliver Knussen and soloists Nino Gvetadze, Hannes Minnaar, Isabelle van Keulen, Lucas & Arthur Jussen, Lucas Jussen, Harriet Krijgh, Alexander Romanovsky (pianist), Alexander Romanovsky, Alexander Sitkovetsky and Claron McFadden. The orchestra made its debut at Young Euro Classic in 2015. It is a member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras. A youth orchestra is an orchestra made of Youth, young musicians, typically ranging from pre-teens or teenagers to those of Music school, conservatory age. Depending on the age range and selectiveness, they may serve different purposes. Lucas & Arthur Jussen
Lucas (left) and Arthur Jussen (right) in 2019, 260px Lucas Jussen (born 27 February 1993) and Arthur Jussen (born 28 September 1996) are a Dutch piano duo. They are brothers who have been performing in public since early childhood, often together as a piano duo. They come from a musical family: their mother Christianne van Gelder teaches the flute, while their father Paul Jussen is a timpanist in the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in Hilversum and a percussionist in the Ensemble Da Capo. The brothers were students of piano teacher Jan Wijn. They lived and studied with Maria João Pires and have played with pianists Ricardo Castro and Lang Lang. The European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO) is the association of the national youth orchestras of Europe. Its mission statement is to "provide a unique platform for the exchange of experience in orchestra training". It is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. Young Euro Classic is an international music festival for youth orchestras. Established in Berlin, Germany in 2000, it is one of the world's most important international platforms for young musicians in the Western classical music tradition. Every summer, orchestras from all over the world perform at the Konzerthaus Berlin. The festival is an associated member organization of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras. Claron McFadden
Claron McFadden (born 1961) is an American soprano. McFadden studied voice at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, finishing her degree in 1984. She gained international fame when making her Glyndebourne Festival Opera debut in the title role of the opera ''Lulu'', conducted by Sir Andrew Davis. As well as singing many of the major oratorio works, McFadden became particularly world-famous for her interpretation of modern and contemporary music. McFadden is currently based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Alexander Alexandrovich Romanovsky (Ukrainian: Олександр Олександрович Романовський) (born 21 August 1984) is a Ukrainian-born classical pianist resident in Italy. Romanovsky self-identifies as Russian while performing in Russia, and in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories. Biography Romanovsky was born in Dniprodzerzhinsk, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union (now Kamianske in Ukraine). He studied in Kharkiv. Romanovsky appeared at age 11 with the Moscow Virtuosi under Vladimir Spivakov. His piano teacher was Leonid Margarius, a pupil of Regina Horowitz, sister of pianist Vladimir Horowitz. Harriet Krijgh
Harriet Krijgh (born 1991) is a Dutch cellist. Life She received her first cello lessons at the age of five. In 2000, she was accepted into the young talent class at the Utrechts Conservatorium, where she was taught by Lenian Benjamins. In 2004, Harriet moved to Vienna to study cello with Lilia Schulz-Bayrova and Jontscho Bayrov at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. Since September 2013, Harriet has been studying as a "Young Soloist" at the Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson, a study made possible by the Casals Scholarship. She continues her artistic training with Schulz-Bayrova in Vienna in parallel. In 2019, she took over the cello part in the Artemis Quartet from founding member .
