National Ribat University
The National Ribat University (NRU) (Arabic: جامعة الرباط الوطني) is a university based in the city of Khartoum, Sudan. The President of the Republic is the sponsor of the university. The University Council is chaired by the Minister of Interior, and the Director General of Sudanese Police Forces is his deputy. The university is ranked 10,402 in the world, third in Sudan. In Sudan, it ranks below the University of Khartoum and the Sudan University of Science and Technology, above Karary University and the International University of Africa. Law Enforcement In Sudan
Law enforcement in Sudan is the law enforcement of the country of Sudan. History The British army assigned a captain to the central administration for police duties in 1898. He commanded 30 British army officers and helped to organize provincial police forces. In 1901 the authorities decentralized the police to improve efficiency. The government assumed responsibility for administrative control of the police in 1908, but provincial governors retained operational control of the forces. In 1928 the British established the Sudan Police Force (SPF) under the Ministry of Interior. Throughout the colonial period, the police lacked the resources and manpower to deploy officers throughout Sudan. Instead, the government gave tribal leaders authority to maintain order among their people and to enlist a limited number of “retainers” to help them in law-enforcement duties. Education In Sudan
Education in Sudan is free and/or compulsory for children aged 6 to 13 years. Primary education up to the 2019/2020 academic year consists of eight years, followed by three years of secondary education. The primary/secondary educational ladder of 6+3+3 years was switched in 1965 and during the Omar al-Bashir presidency to 8+3 and is scheduled, during the 2019 Sudanese transition to democracy, to return to 6+3+3 in the 2020/2021 academic year. The primary language at all levels is Arabic. Starting in the 2020/2021 academic year, English is to be taught starting at kindergarten. Schools are concentrated in urban areas; many in the South and West were damaged or destroyed by years of civil war. Ahfad University For Women
Ahfad University for Women is a private women's university in Omdurman, Sudan that was founded in 1966, by Yusuf Badri, son of the Mahdist soldier Babiker Badri. The university began with only 23 students and 3 teachers. It was the first Sudanese women's college. The current president is Dr. Gasim Badri, Yusuf Badri's son. History The Ahfad University for Women was founded in a familial tradition of educating girls in Sudan. After the battle of 1898 when Sudanese Mahdist forces were defeated by the Anglo-Egyptian army, Babiker Badri — a Sudanese survivor — settled in the village of Rufu'a. Future University (FU) ( ar, جامعة المستقبل), formerly known as Computer Man College ( ar, كلية كمبيوترمان) or (CMC), is the first specialized Information and communications technology university in Sudan. Since its establishment in 1991 as Computer Man College, it was considered the first college to introduce an Information Technology program in the region, and within the country , it was the first to introduce a Computer Engineering program and the second to introduce the Telecommunication Engineering and Architecture & Design programs.
