South Carolina Highway 105 (SC 105) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The highway connects rural areas of Union and Cherokee counties. Route description SC 105 begins at an intersection with SC 49 (Lockhart Highway) south of Robat, in rural parts of northeastern Union County. It travels to the north and almost immediately intersects SC 9 (Jonesville–Lockhart Highway). The highway gradually moves to a more westerly routing, while still traveling north. It crosses over the Pacolet River on an unnamed bridge, where it enters Cherokee County. In Saratt, it intersects SC 211 (Gowdeysville Road). Cross Anchor, South Carolina
Cross Anchor is a Census-designated place in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population in the 2010 United States Census was 126. History A community post office called Cross Anchor has been in operation since 1809. Cross Anchor may have been named for an old tavern sign depicting two anchors crossed. Alternatively, one Union County historian has stated the name originates from two British brothers who sailed to South Carolina before moving inland. Upon arriving in the Upstate region of the state, the brother who piloted the ship decided to settle in Cross Anchor, naming the community in honor of his role in the brothers' journey. The other brother, who possessed the ship's keys, named and settled the nearby community of Cross Keys. South Carolina Highway 56 (SC 56) is a primary state highway in the state of South Carolina. The highway provides a back country alternative to Interstate 26 (I-26) from Clinton to Spartanburg. Route description SC 56 is generally a two-lane rural highway that expands to a four-lane urban highway in Clinton and Spartanburg. It travels in a north-south direction, though it is signed east-west; to make it more confusing, signage in Spartanburg reverse the directions. It serves as a parallel route to Interstate 20 (I-20) for much of its length. Cross Keys, South Carolina
Cross Keys is an unincorporated community in Union County, South Carolina. Historically, it was the site of the "large and prosperous" Cross Keys plantation. A post office was established at Cross Keys in 1809 and operated until 1909. The Cross Keys House, a plantation home built in 1812–1814, stood at the intersection of two important early highways (the Old Charleston Road, now known as Old Buncombe Road, and Old Ninety-Six Road, also known as the Old Piedmont Stage Road) and was a stop for early travelers in the area.
