The National Democratic Movement ( sr, Народни демократски покрет/''Narodni demokratski pokret'', NDP) is a political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina led by Dragan Čavić. History The party was established on 9 June 2013 as a merger of the Democratic Party and the National Democratic Party. In April 2014 the New Socialist Party merged into the NDP. In the 2014 elections the party contested the national elections in an alliance with the Party of Democratic Progress, with the alliance winning a single seat in the national House of Representatives. Dragan Čavić ( sr-Cyrl, Драган Чавић; born 10 March 1958) is a Bosnian Serb politician who was the 5th President of Republika Srpska from 28 November 2002 until 9 November 2006, after having been Vice President from 2000 to 2002. From 20 July 2004 until 15 December 2006, he was the President of the Serb Democratic Party. Education and personal life Čavić attended elementary and high school in Banja Luka, and graduated from the Economics Faculty of the University of Banja Luka in 1980. He worked as an economist, financial manager and commercial director in several public and private companies. Čavić is married and has a son and a daughter. 2014 Bosnian General Election
General elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 12 October 2014. They decided the makeup of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Presidency as well as national, entity, and cantonal governments. Voter turnout was 54.4%. The elections for the House of Representatives were divided into two; one for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one for Republika Srpska. In the presidential election, voters in the Federation re-elected Bosniak Bakir Izetbegović and elected Croat Dragan Čović, while voters in Republika Srpska elected Serb Mladen Ivanić.
