National Amateur Cup
The National Amateur Cup, also known as the USASA Amateur Cup, is an American soccer competition open to all amateur teams affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation through United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). In 1923, U.S. Soccer established the National Amateur Cup in response to the growing number of teams entering the open National Challenge Cup (now known as the U.S. Open Cup). The 1923 competition was played through the semifinals, however the tournament was never completed due to inclement weather. While the USSF originally managed the competition, that responsibility is now held by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). Dallas Mean Green
The Dallas Express was an American soccer club based in Dallas, Texas that was a member of the Lone Star Soccer Alliance. The team began its existence as the Dallas Mean Green, a local, unaffiliated team which competed at the amateur level. In 1984, it won the National Amateur Cup. In 1987, The Mean Green entered the Lone Star Soccer Alliance under the name Dallas Express. They resumed their original name the next season, but in 1989, became known as F.C. Dallas. San Francisco Glens Soccer Club, commonly known as SF Glens, is an American soccer club based in San Francisco that was founded in 1961. Their men's first team currently competes in USL League Two and women's first team in the USL W League, both in the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. Before establishing a USL League Two franchise in 2018, the Glens had been a longtime member of the San Francisco Soccer Football League (SFSFL) and were once affiliated with the San Francisco Seals' PDL team, which is now defunct. The Glens continue to field three SFSFL teams, but the USL League Two franchise is now the club's official first team. Atlanta Datagraphic was an amateur U.S. soccer club sponsored by the Datagraphic firm of Atlanta, Georgia. It won the 1979 National Amateur Cup. History In 1979, George D. Baker, president of Datagraphic, a printing firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, founded a men’s amateur soccer team. The team rapidly proved itself as one nation’s top amateur clubs as it took the 1979 National Amateur Cup. Over the years, the club expanded to include youth, women’s and over-30 teams. Denver Kickers
Denver Kickers are an American soccer club, founded in 1956. The club fields a number of teams at the adult and youth levels. The Kickers premier team plays in the United States Adult Soccer Association sanctioned Colorado Adult Soccer Association, formerly the Colorado State Soccer Association. The club is a former member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, and played in the Southwest Conference. They currently play their home games at the Denver Kickers Sport Complex in Golden, Colorado, 15 miles west of downtown Denver. The team's colors are red, white and blue. When the Kickers won the National Amateur Cup in 1977, 1978, and 1983, their colors were white jerseys, black shorts, and white stockings. The Kearny Scots are an American soccer club based in Kearny, New Jersey. The club presently plays in the Eastern Premier Soccer League, which is a United States Adult Soccer Association-affiliated league and an amateur affiliate of the professional third tier National Independent Soccer Association. Washington British Lions
The Washington British Lions was an American soccer team which won the National Amateur Cup in 1969. The club were prominent in local leagues of Washington, D.C. and Maryland, including the National Soccer League. Between 1963 and 1968 they won four MSSA Cups run by the Maryland State Soccer Association, and reached another three finals, the last of which was in 1970. United German-Hungarians is an American social club, founded in 1910, as the Banater Männerchor. Although the club has been home to various auxiliary groups, the primary activities of the club remain soccer and cultural dancing. The first team was started in 1922, playing exhibition games only. The current German Hungarian Cultural Group was founded in 1965. Representation Nomenclature The original name of the organization, the Banater Männerchor, comes from the Hungarian birthplace (Banat) of the founders and many later members. The meaning of the current nomenclature, The United German Hungarians, refers to the fact that Banat Swabians were Germans living in Hungary, and not a union of 'Germans' and 'Hungarians.'
