Nasuru Kabara
Nasiru Muhammad Al-Muktar Kabara known as Nasiru Kabara, (18 April 1924 - 1996) He is a prominent Islamic scholar of Qadiriyya in Kano State, founder of darul Qadiriyya in Kano State and the former Leader of Qadiriyya in West Africa. He was succeeded by his son Qaribullahi Nasiru Kabara, He is also the father of the controversial Islamic scholar Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara. Early life He was born in Guringawa in Kano State. His great-grandfather was originally said to came from a Kabara harbor close to a river in Niger, that is after the Jihad of Usman Dan Fodio in (1804-8), it was from there that he migrated to Hausa land, to Kano emirate in the late eighteenth century, where he settled opposite to the royal palace, where he was given a piece of land to settle, the plot and the neighborhood became what's today as Kabara ward "Unguwar Kabara". Qadiriyya
The Qadiriyya (), also transliterated Qādirīyah, ''Qadri'', ''Qadriya'', ''Kadri'', ''Elkadri'', ''Elkadry'', ''Aladray'', ''Alkadrie'', ''Adray'', ''Kadray'', ''Kadiri'', ''Qadiri'', ''Quadri'' or ''Qadri'' are members of the Sunni Qadiri tariqa (Sufi order). The tariqa got its name from Abdul Qadir Gilani (1077–1166, also transliterated ''Jilani''), who was a Hanbali scholar from Gilan, Iran. Kano State
Kano State (Hausa: ''Jihar Kano''جىِهَر كَنوُ) (Fula: Leydi Kano 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤣𞤭 𞤳𞤢𞤲𞤮𞥅 ) is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the northern region of the country. According to the national census done in 2006, Kano State is the most populous in Nigeria. Khalifa Sheikh Qaribullah Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Kabara Al-Malikiy, Al-Ash’ariy, Al-Qadiriy (born 17 February 1959) is the leader of the Qadriyyah Sufi Movement in Nigeria and the West African region. He became the Khalifa in 1996 after the death of his father, Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Kabara. With adherents stretching from Chad basin to the Senegambia, the Qadriyyah Tariqa is the most focused concentration of Sufi adherents in post-colonial Africa. Abduljabbar Nasuru Kabara (born 7 February 1970) Abduljabbar is a Nigerian controversial Islamic cleric and a Qadiriyya scholar based in Kano (city), Kano, Nigeria, accused of blasphemy towards the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He is the son of Nasuru Kabara, the former leader of the Qadiriyya sect of West Africa and a junior brother to Karibullah Nasir Kabara the successor of their late father. Usman Dan Fodio
Usman Ɗan Fodio ( ar, عثمان بن فودي, translit=ʿUthmān ibn Fodio; 15 December 1754 – 20 April 1817) was a Fulani scholar, Sunni Islamic religious teacher, revolutionary, and philosopher who founded the Sokoto Caliphate and ruled as its first caliph. Born in Gobir, Usman was a descendant the Torodbe clans of urbanized ethnic Fulani people living in the Hausa Kingdoms since the early 1400s. In early life, Usman became well-educated in Islamic studies and soon, he began to preach Sunni Islam throughout Nigeria and Cameroon. He wrote more than a hundred books concerning religion, government, culture, and society. Aliyu Ibn Abdullahi-Maje Karofi was an Emir of Kano, a state in what is now Northern Nigeria. Also known as Babba and Mai Sango- ''The Gun User''. Emerging at the end of the Basasa, his reign was marked by a series of costly wars and fortification projects that heavily militarised the erstwhile commercial Emirate.
