Nasrul Abit
Nasrul Abit (24 December 1954 – 28 August 2021) was an Indonesian politician and member of the Great Indonesia Movement Party. He served as the 8th Vice Governor of West Sumatra from 12 February 2016, until 12 February 2021, under Governor Irwan Prayitno, having been elected as Prayitno's running mate in the 2015 West Sumatra gubernatorial election. Prior to this, Abit served as the Regent of Pesisir Selatan Regency from September 2005 to September 2015, as well as the inaugural Deputy Regent of Pesisir Selatan Regency from 2000 to 2005 under then-Regent Darizal Basir. Biography Abit was born on 24 December 1954, in the village of Air Haji in present-day Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. Irwan Prayitno
Irwan Prayitno (born 20 December 1963) is an Indonesian politician who was serving as the governor of West Sumatra province. He was elected in the 2010 and 2015 election for the five-year period 2010–2015 and 2016–2021. Before his election as governor, he served as a member of Indonesia's Parliament (DPR-RI) from the election region of West Sumatra for three consecutive periods (1999–2004, 2004–2009, and 2009–2014). With 32,44% votes, Irwan Prayitno is the second governor of West Sumatra elected by direct popular vote. Mahyeldi Ansharullah
Mahyeldi Ansharullah (born 25 December 1966) is an Indonesian politician from the Prosperous Justice Party who is the current governor of West Sumatra. He was made mayor of Padang in 2014, following a five-year tenure as deputy and victory in the elections of 2013 and 2018. Active in Islamic dawah since his years in Andalas University, he became a member of the Islamist Prosperous Justice Party and first became an elected official in 2004 when he was elected to the province council. His programs as mayor of Padang has included the improvement of the city's infrastructure and hygiene, in addition to education with an added emphasis on studies of the Quran. The 2020 West Sumatra gubernatorial election was held on 9 December 2020 in West Sumatra, Indonesia, as part of the simultaneous local elections. This election was held by the West Sumatra Regional General Elections Commission (KPU), to elect the Governor of West Sumatra along with his deputy to a 2021–2024 mandate. Pesisir Selatan Regency ( id, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, min, Kabupaten Pasisia Salatan, literally South Coast Regency) is a regency ''(kabupaten)'' of West Sumatra, Indonesia.
