Nasos Iliopoulos
Nasos (Athanasios) Iliopoulos (born in Athens on 20 December 1983) is a Greek politician. He has served as a Deputy Minister for Labour, Social Insurance and Social Solidarity. Early life and education He was born on 20 December 1983 in Athens. He studied at the computer department of Athens University of Economics and Business and has completed his post-graduate studies at the department of Political Science and History of Panteio University, in which he is a potential doctor. He has worked in private education and has collaborated with the Rosa Luxembourg foundation. Political career In 2002 he joined SYN Youth and from 2010 until 2013 served as the Secretary of its Central Committee. He is a member of the Central Committee of SYRIZA and used to be a member of the Political Secretariat of the party. 2019 Greek Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Greece on 7 July 2019. The elections were called by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on 26 May 2019 after the ruling Syriza party lost the European and local elections. They were the first national elections since the voting age was lowered to 17, and the number of parliamentary constituencies was increased from 56 to 59. Athens B, the largest constituency before the 2018 reforms, with 44 seats, was broken up into smaller constituencies, the largest of which had 18 seats. The result was a victory for the centre-right liberal conservative New Democracy party led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, which received nearly 40% of the vote and won 158 seats, an outright majority. Kostas Bakoyannis ( el, Κώστας Μπακογιάννης; born 16 March 1978) is a Greek politician. Having served as mayor of the town of Karpenisi, he was popularly elected Regional governor of Central Greece in the 2014 local elections. In June 2019, he was elected as the new Mayor of Athens starting from 1 September 2019. Local elections were held in Greece on 26 May 2019 (first round) and 2 June 2019 (second round). Voters elected representatives to the country's local authorities, comprising 13 regions and 325 municipalities. January 2015 Greek Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Greece on Sunday 25 January 2015 to elect all 300 members to the Hellenic Parliament in accordance with the constitution. The election was held earlier than scheduled due to the failure of the Greek parliament to elect a new president on 29 December 2014. Syriza won a legislative election for the first time, winning 36% of votes and 149 seats, just two short of an absolute majority. The centre-right New Democracy (ND), the outgoing party of government, saw only a small decline from 30% to 28%, but in falling to second place suffered its worst showing to date in terms of seats.
