Naseem Banu
Naseem Banu (4 July 1916 – 18 June 2002) was an Indian actress. She was referred to as Naseem and known as "Beauty Queen" and the "first female superstar" of Indian Cinema. Starting her acting career in the mid-1930s she continued to act till mid-1950s. Her first film was ''Khoon Ka Khoon'' (Hamlet) (1935) with Sohrab Modi under whose Minerva Movietone banner she acted for several years. Her high-point came with Modi's '' Pukar'' (1939) in which she played the role of Empress Nur Jahan. According to composer Naushad she got the sobriquet Pari-Chehra (fairy face) Naseem through the publicity advertisements of her films. She was the mother of actress Saira Banu and mother-in-law to the actor Dilip Kumar. Khan Bahadur Nawab Sir Liaqat Hayat Khan (also sometimes 'Liaquat Hyat Khan'), (February 1887 – 1948) was an Indian official who served for most of his career as a minister and later Prime Minister of Patiala State, in British India. Early life Sir Liaqat was the son of Nawab Muhammad Hyat Khan, CSI, Khattar, of Wah (now in Pakistan Punjab), and the elder brother of Sir Sikandar Hyat Khan. Prem Adib (10 August 1917 – 25 December 1959) was an Indian actor. He was acclaimed as one of the top Bollywood actors of the 1940s, along with the likes of Pahari Sanyal, Ashok Kumar, P. C. Barua and Master Vinayak. Adib is best remembered for his roles as Lord Rama in ''Bharat Milap'' (1942) and ''Ram Rajya (1943 film), Ram Rajya'' (1943). These films had him paired with Shobhana Samarth as Sita, and the duo came to be celebrated as an embodiment of chaste love and "traditional Indian values". Surendra (11 November 1910 – 11 September 1987; Surendra Nath) was an Indian singer-actor of Hindi films. Known by his mononym, Surendra was born and educated in Punjab to be a lawyer by profession. He came to Bombay to become a singer on the recommendation of a Delhi distributor and his friends. Prithviraj Kapoor (born Prithvinath Kapoor; 3 November 1906 – 29 May 1972) was an Indian actor who is also considered to be one of the founding figures of Hindi cinema. Chandra Mohan (24 July 1906 – 2 April 1949) was an Indian actor, known for his work in Hindi cinema in the 1930s and 1940s. He became known for his villainous roles in a number of critical and commercial successes.
