Naomi Russell
Naomi Rebecca Russell (born 8 June 1990 in Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian gymnast. Russell represented Australia in the 2006 Commonwealth Games. She won gold with the team and a bronze on vault. Russell won the silver medal in the all-around competition at the 2006 Artistic Gymnastics Championships (Australian nationals) at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. The Commonwealth Games, often referred to as the Friendly Games or simply the Comm Games, are a quadrennial international multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. Gymnastics is a type of sport that includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, dedication and endurance. The 2006 Commonwealth Games, officially the XVIII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Melbourne 2006 (Boonwurrung/Woiwurrung: ''Narrm 2006'' or ''Naarm 2006''), was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth held in Melbourne, Australia between 15 and 26 March 2006.
