Naomi Flores
Naomi Flores (1921-2013) (code name Looter) was active in the resistance to the Japanese occupation of the Philippines in World War II. Flores was a member of the "Miss U Spy Ring." Working clandestinely and at great risk to herself, she delivered life-saving supplies and messages to American and Filipino prisoners of war in prison camps. She later married an American and moved to the United States. She was honored by the United States with a Medal of Freedom in 1948. Early life According to her daughter, Flores was born in Baguio, Philippines. She was an orphan and was raised in the household of a retired American Army officer, William E. Dosser. She was an Igorot, the Indigenous peoples in the mountains of Luzon Island. When Japan invaded the Philippines in December 1941, Flores was a 20-year old hairdresser in a beauty salon in Manila. Baguio
Baguio ( , ), officially the City of Baguio ( ilo, Siudad ti Baguio; fil, Lungsod ng Baguio), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines. It is known as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines", owing to its cool climate since the city is located approximately above mean sea level, often cited as in the Luzon tropical pine forests ecoregion, which also makes it conducive for the growth of mossy plants, orchids and pine trees, to which it attributes its other moniker as the "City of Pines". Capas
Capas, officially the Municipality of Capas ( pam, Balen ning Capas; tgl, Bayan ng Capas), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Tarlac, Philippines, and one of the richest towns in the province. The town also consists of numerous subdivisions and exclusive villages. Capas is being dubbed as the “Tourism Capital of Tarlac." Apart from being known as the final site of the infamous Bataan Death March, it is also known for Mount Pinatubo treks, where thousands of mountaineers and visitors go. Philippine Resistance Against Japan
During the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, Japanese occupation of the islands in World War II, there was an extensive Philippine resistance movement (Filipino language, Filipino: ''Kilusan ng Paglaban sa Pilipinas''), which opposed the Japanese and their collaborators with active underground and Guerrilla warfare, guerrilla activity that increased over the years. A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or Adolescence, adolescent).
