Nanjing–Hangzhou High-speed Railway
The Nanjing–Hangzhou passenger railway () is a high-speed rail (maximum speed 350 km/h), passenger-dedicated line in eastern China between Nanjing (shorthand name ) and Hangzhou, the capitals of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, respectively. During the planning and early construction stage, the railway was originally referred to as the Nanjing–Hangzhou intercity railway or Ninghang intercity railway (). Recent publications don't use the "intercity" designation anymore, perhaps in recognition of the fact that the railway will be used not only by regional trains but long-distance trains as well. The line is long (including in Jiangsu and in Zhejiang) and has 11 stations: Nanjing South, Jiangning District, Lishui County, Liyang, Yixing in Jiangsu and Changxing County, Huzhou South, Deqing County, Yuhang District and Hangzhou East in Zhejiang. High-speed rail (HSR) is a type of rail system that runs significantly faster than traditional rail, using an integrated system of specialised rolling stock and dedicated tracks. Liyang
Liyang () is a county-level city under the administration of Changzhou in the Jiangsu province of the People's Republic of China. In 2011, it had a population of about 781,500. Hangzhoudong (Hangzhou East) railway station () is a railway station located in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, People's Republic of China. Originally built as a small station serving the Shanghai-Kunming railway, it has been rebuilt as a high-speed rail hub, which became operational on 1 July 2013. History The old station opened in 1992, located on Tiancheng Road. It was closed on 20 January 2010, and demolished. Yuhang District
Yuhang is one of ten urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, East China. Its 2013 population was estimated at 1.17 million. Its inhabitants speak both Mandarin and a variety of Hangzhounese, a Wu dialect. On April 9, 2021, Linping District was established consists of the former Yuhang subdistricts of Linping, Donghu, Nanyuan, Xingqiao, Yunhe, Qiaosi, Chongxian and the Town of Tangxi. Deqing County, Zhejiang
() is a county in the prefecture-level city of Huzhou, in the northwest of Zhejiang province. As of 2020 census, its population was 548,568 all living in the built-up (or metro) area. Deqing is very close to Hangzhou and Shaoxing, so it is becoming de facto a suburb of the two cities. It is being conurbated soon and even a Metro Line is planned in the middle term to link both cities.
