Nancy Wood (journalist)
Nancy Wood is a Canadian journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), where she hosts CBC Television's nightly newscast CBC Montreal News at 11. She is a 1985 graduate of Concordia University. She began her career in 1985 as a staff reporter with the ''Montreal Gazette'' and went on to the ''Toronto Star'' and then to the Ottawa bureau of Maclean's magazine, before moving to Montreal in 1994 to work for the CBC. In 1994, she joined CBC Radio, hosting CBM's local programs '' Radio Noon'', Quebec's sole, English-language, province-wide radio talk show, in 1995. She became host of the CBC early morning show ''Daybreak'' in 2009. Later she worked on Radio-Canada's Enquête, where she investigated air taxi safety, the Montreal Casino, and the Canadian Armed Forces. Radio Noon
Radio Noon is the name of CBC Radio One's regional noon-hour programs in the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador. It was formerly the name of all of the network's noon programs, regardless of location, although many of the programs have since adopted new names such as ''Maritime Noon'', ''BC Almanac'' and ''Ontario Today''. Each province has its own ''Radio Noon'' program, which is produced by the network's primary station in the province but airs provincewide. Daybreak Montreal
''Daybreak Montreal'' is a daily, early morning, English-language Canada, Canadian radio program, broadcast by CBME-FM, the CBC Radio One station in Montreal, Quebec. In 2006, Dave Bronstetter stepped down after hosting the program for 11 years; he was replaced by Mike Finnerty. Finnerty, who was 41 in 2007, was born in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. He first joined CBC Radio in Quebec City as a young reporter in 1989, moving to CBC Radio Montreal in 1992. Finnerty worked in London for the BBC World Service for ten years, before becoming host of Daybreak. Nancy Wood (journalist), Nancy Wood was hired as host in 2009. The Montreal Casino (french: Casino de Montréal) is a casino on the Notre Dame Island in the borough of Ville-Marie in Montreal, Quebec, and is the largest casino in Canada. It is located in Jean-Drapeau Park, across from Montreal’s Old Port, and housed inside two former Expo 67 pavilion buildings. The casino is open to the public 7 days a week, operating morning until late night. It first opened on October 9, 1993. An air taxi is a small commercial aircraft that makes short flights on demand. In 2001 air taxi operations were promoted in the United States by a NASA and aerospace industry study on the potential Small Aircraft Transportation System (SATS) and the rise of light-jet aircraft manufacturing. CBME-FM is an English-language Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Quebec. Owned and operated by the government-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, it broadcasts on 88.5 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 11,510 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 25,000 watts ( class B) from a transmitter atop Mount Royal. The station has a commercial-free news/talk format and is part of the CBC Radio One network which operates across Canada.
