Namig Mammadov
Namig Mammadov (born on 1 February 1976 in Arjut, Kirovakan District, Armenian SSR in the present day Lori Province of Armenia) is an Azerbaijani public figure, businessman and maecenas. He is Caspel LLC company's chairman of the board, and was a member of the Broadcasting Council of İctimai (Public) Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (2009–2015). Early life Namig Mammadov was born on February 1, 1976 in Arjut, Kirovakan District, Armenian SSR (present day Arjut, Lori Province, Armenia) to a family of teachers. Because of reprisals by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in 1988, many local Azerbaijani had to leave own lands as well as their family. Mammadov and his family had to flee from their homeland to Baku. Ogtay Sabir oglu Asadov ( az, Oqtay Sabir oğlu Əsədov; born January 3, 1955) is an Azerbaijani politician who has served as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan between 2005 and 2020. Early life Asadov was born in the village of Shaharjik in Syunik Province in Armenia. He graduated from the Machinery Manufacturing Technologies Department of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. From 1976 on, Asadov worked as the assistant manager and then manager at the Baku Air Conditioners Plant. National Television And Radio Council Of The Republic Of Azerbaijan
The National Television and Radio Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan regulates and censors media and entertainment content in Azerbaijan. The organization has shut down news outlets for content considered objectionable by the authoritarian regime in Azerbaijan. The agency was established on October 5, 2002, with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Nominally, broadcasting is under Azerbaijani law free and state interference is forbidden, but in practice, the regime substantially curtails press freedom and freedom of speech. İctimai Television
İctimai Television ( , “Public Television”), or İTV, is a public television channel in Azerbaijan. It officially began broadcasting on 29 August 2005 after being created by law in the beginning of 2004, as the first independent public broadcaster in Azerbaijan. The channel is based in Baku. Organisation İTV is primarily funded through advertising and government payments. The law of January 2004 creating the channel called for funding to come from a television licence fee beginning in January 2010, but this portion of the law has currently yet to be implemented as of .
