Nagarjuna (film)
''Nagarjuna'' is a 1961 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by Y. V. Rao and produced by K. N. Mallikarjuna. The film stars Rajkumar, Kanta Rao, G. Varalakshmi, Sandhya, Harini and Ramadevi. The film has musical score by Rajan–Nagendra. Y. V. Rao shot the movie simultaneously in Telugu as ''Naagaarjuna'' starring Kanta Rao. Rajkumar portrayed the role of Arjuna's son Iravan in the movie. He later on went on to portray the role of Arjuna's another son Babruvahana in the 1977 movie of the same name - making him the only actor to portray the role of Arjuna and his two sons. This remains the only movie in which YV Rao directed Rajkumar - since their second collaboration ''Hennina Baale Kanneeru'' was stalled after a portion of the shoot. Cast * G. Harini (Kannada Actress)
Harini is a former actress in the Kannada cinema. She was active during the 1950s and 1960s, retiring at the peak of her career. As of 2006 she lived in Bangalore. Early life Harini was born to Srinivasa Upadhya and Bharathi in Udupi as their fourth child. Her brother Vadiraj was also an actor and producer. She appeared as a child artist in films like '' Sri Murugan'' and ''Kannika'' for which she received one rupee for delivering the dialogues very nicely. She became a full-fledged heroine through Tamil film '' Punyavathi''. Career Harini made her debut as leading lady in ''Jaganmohini'' in the role of Mohini at the age of 15. Rajan–Nagendra
Rajan–Nagendra were an Indian musical duo who were prominent composers of film music in Kannada and Telugu cinema from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. Rajan, along with his brother Nagendra, created a niche for themselves for nearly four decades. The duo scored music for about 375 films, over 200 of them in Kannada and the remainder in other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu, Hindi and Sinhala. They composed innumerable hits, hundreds of melodious tunes in their career spanning four decades. They also hold the record for the longest active musical pair in the industry. ''Babruvahana'' is a 1977 Indian Kannada-language Hindu mythological film directed by Hunsur Krishnamurthy . The film stars Rajkumar in a dual role as Arjuna and his son Babruvahana, the titular character alongside an ensemble supporting cast that includes B. Saroja Devi, Kanchana, Jayamala, Vajramuni, Thoogudeepa Srinivas and Ramakrishna. The film narrates the story of Babruvahana, the son of Arjuna and Chitrangada, and the events that lead to him waging a war against his own father so as to restore his mother's honour. This was the first Kannada movie and seventh Indian movie to be based on Babruvahana. In the Hindu epic ''Mahabharata'', Babruvahana ( sa, बब्रुवाहन) is the son of Arjuna, a Pandava prince, and Chitrangada, the princess of Manalura. Babruvahana was adopted as the heir of Manalura by his maternal grandfather and later reigned at the kingdom. Legend According to the ''Mahabharata'', Babruvahana is the son of Arjuna and his wife, Chitrangada. He is the rebirth of Tvasta. Birth Manipura was a kingdom in India. It was ruled by a king named Chitravahana. He had a daughter named Chitrangada, whom he named after the Madhulika flower. For multiple generations, the dynasty did not have more than one heir.
