Nadodikkattu
''Nadodikkattu'' () is a 1987 Indian Malayalam-language satirical comedy film directed by Sathyan Anthikad and written by Sreenivasan based on a story by the Siddique–Lal duo. It stars Mohanlal and Sreenivasan in the lead roles, along with an ensemble supporting cast featuring Shobhana, Thilakan, Innocent, Mamukkoya and Captain Raju. The story revolves around two impecunious young men, Ramdas and Vijayan who not being able to find any job in Kerala, plan to immigrate to Dubai to make their fortunes but get deceived and end up in Chennai. The film drew upon relevant social factors affecting Kerala of the 1980s such as widespread unemployment and poverty. Critics consider the film represents popular Malayalam cinema at its satirical best and established the Mohanlal-Sreenivasan onscreen combination as one of its most memorable and bankable cinematic pairs. Dasan And Vijayan
Dasan and Vijayan (or Ramadas and Vijayan) are the protagonists of the ''Nadodikkattu'' trilogy. The comical characters were created by directors Siddique–Lal and are portrayed by Mohanlal (Dasan) and Sreenivasan (Vijayan). They first appeared as unemployed workers, later becoming detectives by profession working in the Crime Investigation Department (India), Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Tamil Nadu Police, India. The characters first appeared in the 1987 black comedy film ''Nadodikkattu'' and later in its sequels ''Pattanapravesham'' (1988), and ''Akkare Akkare Akkare'' (1990). The first two films in the series was directed by Sathyan Anthikad and the later by Priyadarshan, the trilogy was scripted by Sreenivasan. Raju Daniel (27 June 1950 – 17 September 2018), better known by his stage name Captain Raju, was an Indian army officer and Indian actor. Mamukkoya (born 5 July 1946) is an Indian actor known for his work in Malayalam cinema, and has also appeared in French film ''Flammens of Paradise''. He has mostly appeared in comedic roles. His unique usage of the Mappila dialect and style marks his presence in the industry. Palappurathu Kesavan Surendranatha Thilakan (15 July 1935 – 24 September 2012) was an Indian film and stage actor who appeared in over 200 Malayalam films. Siddique–Lal are a screenwriter and director duo, consisting of Siddique and Lal. They were active together in Malayalam cinema during 1986–1995. They were initially assistant directors to director Fazil. Particularly known for making films in the comedy genre, the films that came out of the partnership include '' Ramji Rao Speaking'' (1989), ''In Harihar Nagar'' (1990), '' Godfather'' (1991), ''Vietnam Colony'' (1992), and ''Kabooliwala'' (1993). Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai (born 21 March 1970) is an Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer. She acts predominantly in Malayalam films along with Telugu and Tamil films with few Hindi, Kannada and English films.
