Nadjmi Adhani
Nadjmi Adhani (27 September 1969 – 10 August 2020) was an Indonesian politician and civil servant. Biography He served as the Mayor of Banjarbaru, a major city in South Kalimantan, from February 2016 until his death in office in August 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In contrast to some Indonesian officials, Adhani reacted strongly to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. He was one of the first mayors in Indonesia to enact penalties for those ignoring COVID-19 safety protocols, such as wearing a facemask. Notably, he initially required violators to do push-ups as punishment, before transitioning to less controversial monetary fines. Mayor Adhani tested positive for COVID-19 on 27 July 2020. Banjarbaru
Banjarbaru is the capital city of South Kalimantan, one of the provinces in Indonesia. It is located southeast of Banjarmasin, the largest city of the province. The city had a population of 248,423 as of the 2017 Census, and the latest official population estimate (as of 2019) is 262,719. The town of Martapura lies immediately to the north of Banjarbaru, and in effect constitutes an extension of the city. The second largest city in the province after Banjarmasin, it is also part of Banjarbakula metropolitan area. Prince Diponegoro ( jv, ꦢꦶꦥꦤꦼꦒꦫ; born Bendara Raden Mas Mustahar, ; later Bendara Raden Mas Antawirya ; 11 November 1785 – 8 January 1855), also known as Dipanegara, was a Javanese prince who opposed the Dutch colonial rule. The eldest son of the Yogyakartan Sultan Hamengkubuwono III, he played an important role in the Java War between 1825 and 1830. After his defeat and capture, he was exiled to Makassar, where he died, 69 years old. His five-year struggle against the Dutch control of Java has become celebrated by Indonesians throughout the years, acting as a source of inspiration for the fighters in the Indonesian National Revolution and nationalism in modern-day Indonesia among others. The Banjar or Banjarese ( bjn, Urang Banjar; ) are an indigenous ethnic group native to the Banjar regions (notably Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, Banjar Regency, etc.) in the southeastern Kalimantan hemisphere of Indonesia. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
