NYC Lab School
The New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies is a secondary school in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It serves students in grades 6–12 and was described as one of the best schools in Manhattan in 2010 by the ''New York Post'' and CUNY. The school is a part of the New York City Department of Education. Admission Admission into the 6th grade is based on an entrance exam consisting of one page of mathematics problems and an essay. For admission into the 9th grade, students must follow the DOE high school admissions process. As of 2013, admissions requirements for the high school are a minimum of 85% in all 7th grade classes and a grade of 3 to 4 (or a score of 650) in the 7th grade reading and math exams. Kamara James
Kamara Latoya James (November 23, 1984 – September 20, 2014) was an American Olympic épée fencer. James was born in Kingston, Jamaica, into a single-parent household. Her family moved to Jamaica, Queens, New York, when she was 10. She was given a full fencing scholarship to The Dwight School, an independent college preparatory school. She then attended Princeton University on a full academic scholarship. James began fencing at age 11, through the Peter Westbrook Foundation. Qian Julie Wang (Chinese: 王乾) is a Chinese-American writer and civil rights lawyer. Early life Qian Wang was born in Shijiazhuang, China to academic parents. Wang's mother was a professor of mathematics, while Wang's father was a professor of English and critic of the government, which led to the family being persecuted. The Strokes
The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City. Current TV was an American television channel which broadcast from August 1, 2005, to August 20, 2013. Prior INdTV founders Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, with Ronald Burkle, each held a sizable stake in Current TV. Comcast and DirecTV each held a smaller stake.
