NRK P3
NRK P3 is a nationwide digital radio channel operated by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). It was established as NRK's third radio channel in 1993, and was the result of the NRK radio channel reform initiated in 1992 by radio director Tor Fuglevik. NRK P3 focuses on youth culture: principally music, together with humour, entertainment, and health education. Over the years NRK P3 has fostered entertainers including Thomas Numme, Steinar Sagen, Kristopher Schau, Kari Slaatsveen, Jørgen Strickert, Anne Lindmo and Espen Thoresen. All NRK's radio stations are gradually digitized during 2017 and transmitted via DAB+ and internet only. Its notable programs include ''P3 Sessions'' that airs own-produced concerts live. Freeform Radio
Free-form, or free-form radio, is a radio station programming format in which the disc jockey is given total control over what music to play, regardless of music genre or commercial interests. Freeform radio stands in contrast to most commercial radio stations, in which DJs have little or no influence over programming structure or playlists. ''Europe's Biggest Dance Show'' is an annual multinational dance music simulcast presented by Euroradio and hosted by BBC Radio 1, in collaboration with several European radio stations, all of which are affiliated with Euroradio and owned by public broadcasters which are members of the European Broadcasting Union. Background The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced on 27 September 2019 that it would join radio stations from seven other countries, and a potential audience of 18 million listeners, in hosting a one-off dance music simulcast on 11 October. The first simulcast began at 19:00 BST and ended at 02:00 BST on 12 October, with Annie Mac introducing for BBC Radio 1 in London.
