Newag S.A. ronounced: nevagis a Polish company, based in Nowy Sącz, specialising in the production, maintenance, and modernisation of railway rolling stock. The company's products include the 14WE, 19WE, 35WE types electric multiple units; it has also developed the Nevelo tram. History In 1876 the Royal Railway Workshop opened, serving a newly built Austrian railway line. After the First World War the establishment, renamed "1st Class Main Workshop" served Polish State Railways, employing some 1800 workers in 1922. Newag Impuls is a family of standard-gauge electric, diesel and bi-mode (''hybrid'') multiple units manufactured by Polish railway rolling stock manufacturer Newag. Manufactured in several versions, they differ in the number of cars and purpose. Offered are electric 2-car (types 37WE and 37WEa), 3-car (types 36WE, 36WEa, 36WEb, 36WEd), 4-car (type 31WE), 5-car (type 45WE) and 6-car (type 35WE) trainsets, and also diesel and bi-mode 3-car (types 36WEhd and 36WEh, respectively) ones. Newag Dragon
The Newag Dragon is a Polish six-axle electric locomotive, designed for working freight trains up to 4500 tons. The locomotive is built by Newag, between 2009–2016 at its Gliwice plant, since 2017 at the Nowy Sącz plant. By April 2020, 42 units had been built and delivered to 12 different train operating companies in Poland. Newag 220M/221M is a series of diesel multiple units, they are two and three-section passenger trains which have been manufactured since 2010. They are designed for suburban and long-distance passenger transit. They are low-floor, open-coach units produced by Newag in Nowy Sącz in Poland. Altogether 9 units have been produced which are operated by Przewozy Regionalne and Silesian Railways. History In September 2009, the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland announced a tender for two and three-section diesel multiple units. Newag, in order to enter a new market, went in cooperation with EC Engineering Company which has designed the units and started their production in February 2010, before signing an agreement with the local government in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, which took place on May 21.
