North Carolina Highway 107 (NC 107) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The highway runs north–south from the South Carolina state line, near Cashiers, to US 23 Business in Sylva. Route description The highway is four lanes between Sylva and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, and two lanes beyond. Between WCU and Cashiers (about ), the highway is a winding mountain road, and continues in this manner all the way to the South Carolina state border. Before it was straightened and bypassed around Cullowhee in 1978-1981, the road followed the Tuckasegee River through Cullowhee, and went along the opposite edge of Western Carolina University. North Carolina Highway 112
North Carolina Highway 112 (NC 112) is an east–west state highway in western North Carolina in Buncombe County, southwest of downtown Asheville. Route description NC 112 begins at its western end at US 19/US 23 (Smokey Park Highway) in the unincorporated community of Enka, but within the city limits of Asheville. From here it travels south and then east on Sand Hill Road before turning southeasterly on Sardis Road then ending at North Carolina Highway 191 (Brevard Road) in the Asheville community of Venable. Georgia State Route 246 (SR 246) and North Carolina Highway 106 (NC 106) are actually a pair of highway designations that run concurrently on a single road that runs from Dillard, Georgia to Highlands, North Carolina. The route is unique for its five state crossings between Georgia and North Carolina along the southern slopes of Kinley Mountain. Dillsboro is a town in Jackson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 232 at the 2010 census. Dillsboro attracts tourists traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad begins in Dillsboro and follows the Murphy Branch, constructed in the 1880s. Newfound Gap (el. ) is a mountain pass located near the center of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park of the southern Appalachian Mountains in the United States of America. Situated along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, the state line crosses the gap, as does Newfound Gap Road (which overlaps U.S. Route 441 through the park and ends at the park's boundaries near Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Cherokee, North Carolina).
