NCAA Football Championship (Philippines)
The National Collegiate Athletic Association football championship is held every early part of the year (January). The football season is divided into two conferences (tournaments). Out of the eight NCAA schools, only four fields a team in the football tournament. The teams face each other once every conference. The teams with the most points on the league table advances in the Championship game. If a team wins both conferences, the Championship game is omitted, and the winning team from both conferences is the champion. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)Pronounced "N-C-A-A". is an athletics association of ten private colleges and universities in Metro Manila, Philippines. Established in 1924, it is the oldest collegiate athletic association in the country. The Philippine NCAA is not affiliated with the NCAA of the United States. UAAP Football Championship
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Football Championship is usually held during the second semester of the school year (December–April). Tournament format The tournament has three divisions: men, women and boys. As of season 77 (2014–15), eight member universities field a team in the men's division and five in the women's division. The number of participating schools increased to eight from seven in the men's division. Adamson University fielded a men's team in Season 77 (2014–15). Adamson made its return in men's football after more than a decade of absence. While in the boys division, five member universities field a team: the Ateneo de Manila University, the De La Salle University, the Far Eastern University, the University of Santo Tomas and the National University.
