NBA Academy
The NBA Academy is a basketball development initiative created by the National Basketball Association (NBA) that develops top international high school-age prospects. The program includes academies across India, Australia (known as the Global Academy), Mexico (known as the NBA Academy Latin America), and Senegal (known as the NBA Academy Africa) for top prospects from their respective countries and continents. The program provides player development in addition to education, housing, and mentorship. History The NBA Academy was launched in 2016 to provide a comprehensive development pathway for young elite athletes in their home regions. NBA academies recruit talent through their Jr. NBA programs, which are located in over 75 countries. Joshua James Giddey (born 10 October 2002) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Thunder with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft. Giddey is the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, having done so at 19 years, 84 days old. He also became the first player since Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson in 1961 to record three consecutive triple-doubles as a rookie. Prashant Singh Rawat
Prashant Singh Rawat (born 15 August 2000) is an Indian professional basketball player, last playing for Uttarakhand of the National Basketball Championship. Personal Prashant Singh Rawat is the son of Narendra Singh Rawat, a former India national team player who represented his home country from 1993 to 2000 at several international events in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and China. Basketball Without Borders
Basketball Without Borders is a basketball instructional camp organized by the NBA in conjunction with FIBA. It presents itself as a “basketball development and community outreach program that unites young basketball players to promote the sport and encourage positive social change in the areas of education, health, and wellness.” Organized annually since 2001, 41 BWB camps have been held across 23 cities in 20 countries with over 2,300 participants from more than 120 countries and territories, 33 of whom were later drafted into the NBA. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. Adam Silver
Adam Silver (born April 25, 1962) is an American lawyer and sports executive who serves as the fifth and current commissioner of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nelly Junior Joseph (born November 20, 2001) is a Nigerian college basketball player for the New Mexico Lobos of the Mountain West Conference. Ibou Dianko Badji (born 13 October 2002) is a Senegalese professional basketball player for the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League. Gorgui Dieng
Gorgui Sy Dieng (; ; born January 18, 1990) is a Senegalese professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals. Dieng was selected as the 21st overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz and was traded on draft night to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
