NACAM Formula 4 Championship
The North and Central American (NACAM) Formula 4 Championship is a formula racing series run to FIA Formula 4 regulations. The inaugural season was held over 2015 and 2016. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of the Formula 4 was to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. Besides sporting and technical regulations, costs are also regulated. A car to compete in this category may not exceed €30'000 and a single season in Formula 4 may not exceed €100'000. NACAM Formula 4 was the last series to start in 2015 and the eighth Formula 4 category overall. Alexandra Mohnhaupt made history in 2018 as the first female driver to win a race to Formula 4 regulations, the Mexican driver winning the first and second races at the fourth round of the 2017–18 season. Esteban Gutiérrez
Esteban Manuel Gutiérrez Gutiérrez (; born 5 August 1991) is a Mexican racing driver currently representing Mercedes in Formula One, Formula E and esports and Inter Europol Competition in World Endurance Championship. Previously from 2013 to 2014, Gutiérrez drove for the Sauber Formula One team but lost his drive at the end of the 2014 season. He then signed with Ferrari as their test and reserve driver for 2015. Gutiérrez drove for the Haas F1 Team for the 2016 Formula One season. In 2008, Gutiérrez won the Formula BMW Europe championship title, becoming the youngest Mexican driver to win an International Championship at 17 years old. He also won the inaugural GP3 season in 2010. With the Lotus GP team in 2012, he became the first GP3 graduate to finish in the top three of the GP2 parent series. 2015–16 NACAM Formula 4 Championship
The 2015–16 NACAM Formula 4 Championship season was the inaugural season of the NACAM Formula 4 Championship. It began on 1 November 2015 with a non-championship round at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, and finished on 25 June 2016 at the same venue after seven triple-header rounds. Teams and drivers Drivers with an asterisk on their "Rounds" column took part in the non-championship opening round. Race calendar and results The calendar was published on 19 July 2015. All rounds were held in Mexico. The initially scheduled first round was held as a non-championship race in support of the Formula One World Championship. An updated version of the calendar was published on 22 November. A more updated version was presented two days later during the official presentation of the first round. The 2016–17 NACAM Formula 4 Championship season was the second season of the NACAM Formula 4 Championship. It began on 24 September 2016 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas and ended on 18 June 2017 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City after eight triple-header rounds. For the first time, the series expanded outside Mexico, hosting its opening round at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. The series also hosted a full-championship round in support of the 2016 Mexican GP round, as opposed to the exhibition round held the previous season, and also extended its territory to Southeastern Mexico by holding two back-to-back rounds in the states of Yucatán and Quintana Roo. The 2017–18 NACAM Formula 4 Championship season was the third season of the NACAM Formula 4 Championship. It began on 2 September 2017 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City and ended on 30 June 2018 at the same venue after eight rounds. Teams and drivers Race calendar and results A provisional calendar was made public on the days leading to the first round on 3 September 2017. As opposed to the previous year, all rounds were held in Mexico. The first two rounds were held in support of the 2017 6 Hours of Mexico and the 2017 Mexican Grand Prix, respectively. Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez
The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is a motorsport race track in Mexico City, Mexico, named after the racing drivers Ricardo (1942–1962) and Pedro Rodríguez (1940–1971). The circuit got its name shortly after it opened when Ricardo Rodríguez died in practice for the non-Championship 1962 Mexican Grand Prix. Ricardo's brother Pedro was also killed behind the wheel nine years later. Since 2015, the track has once again hosted the Formula One Mexican Grand Prix, an event it previously hosted in two separate periods on a different layout, the last occasion of which was in 1992. The circuit is located within the public park of the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in southeast Mexico City. The 2023 NACAM Formula 4 Championship season was the seventh season of the NACAM Formula 4 Championship. It began on 15 April at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City and ended on 29 October at the same circuit. Teams and drivers Race calendar All rounds were held in Mexico. It began on 26 March at Autódromo de Quéretaro in El Marqués and ended on 30 October at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City with the additional, non-championship, round held on 9–10 December at the same circuit. Noel Jesús León Vázquez (born 21 December 2004), better known as Noel León, is a Mexican racing driver who most recently competed in the Formula Regional European Championship with Arden Motorsport.
