n5MD is a record label based in Oakland, California. The label was founded by Mike Cadoo in 2000. n5MD started out as a MiniDisc-only label, the label name meaning "No Fives, Minidiscs!" But when Sony DADC Austria stopped manufacturing pre-recorded MDs, n5MD changed over to CDs, continuing to release a few 7" records and eventually moving to 12". Much of the back catalog is available for purchase in MP3 format from the label's web site. The label specializes in more emotive styles of contemporary music, with their releases branching between post-rock, post-classical, experimental music and electronica. The label has released over 100 albums to date. n5MD signed with Redeye Worldwide in October 2017 for North American physical and worldwide digital distribution. Redeye Distribution, is an American independent record label based in Hillsborough, North Carolina, United States. It was founded in 1996 by Tor Hansen, Kim Hansen, Glenn Dicker. The label focuses on independent music. History Redeye is represented worldwide with U.S. offices in Hillsborough, NC, as well as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, and New York City; and international offices in London, Berlin, Sydney, and Toronto. The company is also a member of multiple industry-related organizations including Merlin, the Music Business Association, and A2iM. Redeye owns and operates the Yep Roc Music Group, a label group that includes Yep Roc Records, Break World Records, and Studio One Records as well as the Riff City Sounds publishing company. Tim Koch (guitarist)
Heartist is an American rock band that started in Orange County, California in 2011. They formed in early 2011 after guitarists Jonathan Gaytan and Tim Koch left their band, and found Bryce Beckley, who had also left his band, Evan Ranallo and Matt Marquez, who was playing with Norma Jean. Following the departure of Gaytan, Robby DeVito took over as guitarist. They released their first full-length album, ''Feeding Fiction'', in 2014. It was produced by David Bendeth, who has previously worked with artists including Paramore, Of Mice and Men, and Breaking Benjamin. On April 14, 2014, the band released the first single, "Pressure Point", from their first album. Their first work, the ''Nothing You Didn't Deserve'' EP, was released on October 16, 2012.
