Nyuya (river)
The Nyuya (; sah, Ньүүйэ, ''Ñüüye'') is a river in Sakha, Russia. It is a left tributary of the Lena. The length of the river is . The area of its basin is . Course The Nyuya has its source in the Lena Plateau and flows south of the course of the Peleduy. The Nyuya freezes up in the second half of October and stays icebound until May. In its lower course it flows to the west of the Derba as it reaches the Lena floodplain and flows slowly in a swampy area. Finally it meets the Lena from its mouth. The Lena (russian: Ле́на, ; evn, Елюенэ, ''Eljune''; sah, Өлүөнэ, ''Ölüöne''; bua, Зүлхэ, ''Zülkhe''; mn, Зүлгэ, ''Zülge'') is the easternmost of the three great Siberian rivers that flow into the Arctic Ocean (the other two being the Ob and the Yenisey). Permafrost underlies most of the catchment, 77% of which is continuous. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The Lena is the eleventh-longest river in the world, and the longest river entirely within Russia. Google Earth is a computer program that renders a 3D computer graphics, 3D representation of Earth based primarily on satellite imagery. Great Soviet Encyclopedia
The ''Great Soviet Encyclopedia'' (GSE; ) is one of the largest Russian-language encyclopedias, published in the Soviet Union from 1926 to 1990. After 2002, the encyclopedia's data was partially included into the later ''Bolshaya rossiyskaya entsiklopediya'' (or '' Great Russian Encyclopedia'') in an updated and revised form. The GSE claimed to be "the first Marxist–Leninist general-purpose encyclopedia". Origins The idea of the ''Great Soviet Encyclopedia'' emerged in 1923 on the initiative of Otto Schmidt, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In early 1924 Schmidt worked with a group which included Mikhail Pokrovsky, (rector of the Institute of Red Professors), Nikolai Meshcheryakov (Former head of the Glavit, the State Administration of Publishing Affairs), Valery Bryusov (poet), Veniamin Kagan (mathematician) and Konstantin Kuzminsky to draw up a proposal which was agreed to in April 1924. The Derba (russian: Дерба), also known as Derbe (russian: Дербе; sah, Дьэрбэ, ''Cerbe'') or Dzherba (russian: Джерба), is a river in Yakutia (Sakha Republic), Russia. It is a tributary of the Lena with a length of — counting the Mas-Turukhtaakh at its head— and a drainage basin area of . The river flows across an uninhabited area of the Lensky District. Course The Derba is a left tributary of the Lena. It is formed at the confluence of the Kyuyokh-Ottakh (Кюёх-Оттоох) and Mas-Turukhtaakh (Мас-Турухтаах) rivers in the eastern fringes of the Central Siberian Plateau, to the south of the basin of the Vilyuy.
