Shire Of Korumburra
The Shire of Korumburra was a local government area located about southeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1891 until 1994. History Originally part of the Shire of Buln Buln, Korumburra was first incorporated as the Shire of Poowong and Jeetho on 29 May 1891. Its boundaries were initially fairly flexible, as it annexed parts of the Warragul and Woorayl Shires, settling on its final boundaries by 1912. It was renamed Korumburra on 25 October 1922. South Gippsland Railway Line
The South Gippsland railway line is a partially closed railway line in Victoria, Australia. It was first opened in 1892, branching from the Orbost line at Dandenong, and extending to Port Albert. Much of it (the section up to Leongatha) remained open until December 1994 (passenger services finished the previous July). Today, only the section between Dandenong and Cranbourne remains open for use. The section of the line from Nyora to Leongatha was used by the South Gippsland Tourist Railway until it ceased operations in 2016. The section from Nyora to Welshpool, with extension trail to Port Welshpool and a portion of the former line at Koo Wee Rup, have been converted into the Great Southern Rail Trail. Korumburra
Korumburra is a town in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located on the South Gippsland Highway, south-east of Melbourne, in the South Gippsland Shire local government area. At the Korumburra had an urban population of 3,639. Surrounded by rolling green hills, the town is above the sea level of coastal Inverloch, about away. History The Post Office in the area opened on 1 September 1884, and moved to the township on the railway survey line on 1 November 1889, the existing office being renamed Glentress. The railway arrived in 1891, and the now heritage listed railway station was built in 1908. Longwarry is a town in Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shires of Baw Baw and Cardinia local government areas. Longwarry recorded a population of 2,436 at the 2021 census. It has one primary school, Longwarry Primary School. Longwarry is bypassed by the Princes Freeway. History The railway arrived in 1879 and a post office opened on 20 June 1881. The post office was renamed Longwarry South (later Ripplebrook) on 1 September 1882, the same day a new office, named Longwarry, opened near the railway station. Longwarry railway station provides rail services to Melbourne as well as Bairnsdale. The town has an Australian Rules football team competing in the Ellinbank & District Football League. Something In The Air (TV Series)
''Something in the Air'' is an Australian television soap opera transmitted by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation between 2000 and 2002. It was one of the first programs in Australia that was filmed in widescreen. It won the AACTA Award for Best Television Drama Series in 2001. The series initially screened four episodes weekly, Monday to Thursday at 6:30 pm and received moderate success. Ratings began to drop after the show was moved to Saturday evenings in which it was cut down to two episodes shown in a one-hour block. It later resumed its usual weekly run, however, it was screened in a 6:00 pm timeslot which ultimately led to its cancellation. The series was repeated on the-then ABC2 from 11 February 2008. Lang Lang, Victoria
Lang Lang is a town in Victoria, Australia, 73 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shires of Bass Coast, Cardinia and South Gippsland local government areas. Lang Lang recorded a population of 2,556 at the 2021 census. 2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). South Gippsland Shire
The Shire of South Gippsland is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the south-eastern part of the state. It covers an area of and, in June 2018, had a population of 29,576. It includes the towns of Leongatha, Korumburra, Foster, Poowong, Mirboo North and Meeniyan. It was formed in 1994 from the amalgamation of the former Shire of South Gippsland with the Shire of Mirboo, and parts of the Shire of Korumburra and Shire of Woorayl. It is located within the Eastern Victoria Region of the Legislative Council.
