Nyo Nyo Thin
Nyo Nyo Thin ( my, ညိုညိုသင်း; born 26 September 1967) is a Burmese lawyer and politician who previously served as a member of parliament in the Yangon Region Hluttaw for the Bahan Township No. 2 constituency. She is also a director of the organisation Yangon Watch, an independent organisation for government regulation. Early life and education Nyo Nyo Thin was born on 26 September 1967 in Yangon, Myanmar. She enrolled at Rangoon University in 1983 and graduated with an LLM degree in 1997. She also graduated with a degree in Law from Yokohama National University in 2006. She was awarded her doctorate in Law from Yokohama National University, and undertook postdoctoral studies within the Peace and Governance Program at Tokyo’s United Nations University. State And Region Hluttaws
Myanmar ( also known as ''Burma'') is divided into twenty-one administrative subdivisions, which include seven states (; ''pyi ne'', ), seven regions (; ''taing detha gyi'', ), five self-administered zones and one self-administered division (Wa Self-Administered Division). The regions were called divisions prior to August 2010. Each State and Region has a State Hluttaw or Regional Hluttaw made up of elected civilian members and unelected representatives of the Armed Forces. The Pyithu Hluttaw ( my, ပြည်သူ့ လွှတ်တော်, ; House of Representatives) is the ''de jure'' lower house of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the bicameral legislature of Myanmar (Burma). 2015 Myanmar General Election
General elections were held in Myanmar on 8 November 2015, with the National League for Democracy winning a supermajority of seats in the combined national parliament. Yangon Region Hluttaw ( my, ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းဒေသကြီးလွှတ်တော်) is the legislature of the Burmese region of Yangon Region. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 123 members, including 92 elected members and 31 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Tin Maung Tun of the National League for Democracy (NLD).
