''Nyana'' is a double disc album by trance producer and DJ Tiësto, released on May 6, 2003. Disc one is labeled ''Outdoor'', while the second CD is labeled ''Indoor''. According to the FAQ section on Tiësto's official website: "On a visit in South Africa, Tiësto was introduced to a cheetah named Nyana". In Swahili "nyana" means sunrise. Tijs Michiel Verwest (; born 17 January 1969), known professionally as Tiësto ( ), is a Dutch DJ and music producer from Breda. He was voted "the Greatest DJ of All Time" by '' Mix'' magazine in a 2010/2011 poll amongst fans. In 2013, he was voted by ''DJ Mag'' readers as the "best DJ of the last 20 years". He is also regarded as the "Godfather of EDM" by many sources. Roc Project
The Roc Project is an American electronica act, composed of the New York City-based DJ Ray Roc and, most often, the vocalist Tina Novak. Their debut single, "Never (Past Tense)" was released in 2003. However, because of difficulty getting the song released due to Novak and Roc being signed to different record labels, Ray Roc decided to recruit the Australian singer Tina Arena to sing Novak's vocals instead. James Holden (producer)
James Alexander Goodale Holden (born 7 June 1979) is a British electronic music artist and DJ. After beginning his career as a DJ and producer, Holden has moved extensively into live performance and founded his own record label Border Community. Early career Holden grew up in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, before studying mathematics at Oxford University. He started his career in 1999 at age 19 and swiftly gained wider recognition with the release of trance single "Horizons", which he created with the freeware software Buzz. This "crossover anthem of the summer of 1999" was picked up by Pete Tong, John Digweed and Nick Warren, quickly propelling Holden to a wider audience. Solarstone
Richard Mowatt, commonly known by his stage name Solarstone (formerly spelled Solar Stone), is an Irish trance DJ and producer based in Wales. The music project Solarstone was founded as a trio, and also used the pseudonyms Young Parisians, Liquid State and Z2. Over the years, Solarstone has developed a reputation for keeping to the original and classic trance sound. He is considered to be a veteran by fans in the trance music scene. Gabriel & Dresden is an American electronic music duo comprising Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden, formed in San Francisco, California. "Beautiful Things" is the second release by Andain. It first appeared on Tiësto's compilation album '' Nyana'', released May 6, 2003, and was later published as a single via Black Hole, on October 27, 2003. Overview While "Beautiful Things" was promoted and released as a remix by Gabriel & Dresden, the song originally started out as an unreleased guitar track titled "Annie". In response to a request from Tiësto for a follow-up to the single "Summer Calling", "Annie" was rewritten to become a club track, also changing the lyrics from a narrative third person view to first person. Andain
Andain was a San Francisco-based electronic music duo, originally formed in 2000. They broke through in 2002 after being discovered by DJ Tiësto, reaching clubbers worldwide with their singles "Summer Calling" in 2002 and "Beautiful Things" in 2003. The band members initially included producer Josh Gabriel, singer and songwriter Mavie Marcos, and guitarist David Penner, before the group disbanded in 2006. Andain returned again in 2011 as Josh and Mavie, making their comeback with the single "Promises". Transa
Transa are a British electronic music duo composed of brothers Dave and Brendan Webster. Mostly active from the 1990s until the 2000s (decade), they have produced mostly trance music over their career, but have slipped into the realm of progressive house on occasion.
