Nurul Alam Khan
Nurul Alam Khan (born March 15, 1942) is a Bangladeshi educator, mathematician, and former professor of mathematics. He served as the first Vice-Chancellor of the Royal University of Dhaka and held various academic positions at universities in Bangladesh and abroad. He is known for his leadership roles in academic institutions and his active involvement in the Bangladesh Mathematical Society. Early life and education Nurul Alam Khan completed his matriculation at Dhobakhola Coronation High School in 1957, followed by an I.Sc. from Jagannath College in 1959 and an M.Sc. in 1964. He earned his Ph.D. from Charles University, Prague, in 1970. Career Khan began his academic career as a Lecturer at University of Dhaka in 1965. Uttara University ( bn, উত্তরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) or UU is a private university at Uttara, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. UU has twelve campuses in a less than one-kilometer radius and is based in the satellite town of North Dhaka. Since its inception, UU has maintained a fully clean and transparent record as a non-government university. The University of Mosul is a public university located in Mosul. It is one of the largest educational and research centers in the Middle East, and the second largest in Iraq, behind the University of Baghdad. The University of Mosul was closed by the ISIL group in 2014 but reopened just after a few months with new buildings and courses.
