The UK Dance Chart is a weekly chart that ranks the biggest-selling dance singles in the United Kingdom, and is compiled by The Official Charts Company. The dates listed in the menus below represent the Saturday after the Sunday the chart was announced, as per the way the dates are given in chart publications such as the ones produced by Billboard, Guinness, and Virgin. In 2006, the chart was based on sales of CD singles and 12-inch singles, and was published in the UK magazines ''ChartsPlus'' and ''Music Week'' and on BBC Radio 1's official website. During the year, 31 singles reached number one. The biggest-selling dance hit of 2006 was "Put Your Hands Up for Detroit" by Fedde le Grand—it sold approximately 184,000 copies in the UK and topped the UK Singles Chart. Mylo
Myles MacInnes (born 10 May 1978), better known by his stage name Mylo, is a Scottish electronic musician and record producer. His 2004 album ''Destroy Rock & Roll'' peaked at number 26 in the UK Albums Chart. He is best known for his 2005 single "Doctor Pressure", a mashup of his own track "Drop the Pressure" and Miami Sound Machine's 1984 song "Dr. Beat"; it peaked at number 3 in the UK Singles Chart. The track was recorded in 2004 and remixed in 2005 with JJ Flores & Steve Smooth. Miami Sound Machine was an American band of Latin-influenced music that had featured the vocals of Cuban-born recording artist Gloria Estefan (née Fajardo). Established in 1975 by Emilio Estefan Jr., the band was originally known as the Miami Latin Boys before becoming the Miami Sound Machine in 1977. The band had a number of albums and a string of hit singles until 1989. The band's 1985 album ''Primitive Love'' credited the band whereas their follow-up album '' Let It Loose'' in 1987 placed Gloria Estefan at the forefront. From 1988 to 1989, the latter album was also repackaged as ''Anything For You'' with new cover art with the international release in Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. "Doctor Pressure" is a song by Mylo and Miami Sound Machine, from the re-issue of Mylo's debut studio album ''Destroy Rock & Roll'' (2004). The song was written by Elias Enrique Garcia and the producer Mylo. It was released by Sony BMG and Breastfed Recordings on 5 September 2005, as the sixth single from the album. Initially created as a bootleg recording by Phil 'N' Dog, the mashup contains a sample of the songs "Drop the Pressure" and "Dr. Beat" by Mylo and Miami Sound Machine respectively. "Doctor Pressure" peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart, number five on the Irish Singles Chart, and at number 12 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.
