Nuestro Tiempo ( en, Our Time) is a progressive political party in El Salvador, founded in 2019. It is currently led by Juan Valiente. The party is mainly composed of a team of young adults who have not had political experience. Ideologically, the party positions itself as humanist centre, not being on the right or the left of the political spectrum, although various political analysts have placed it on the progressive left. 2021 Salvadoran Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in El Salvador on 28 February 2021 to elect the 84 members of the Legislative Assembly, 20 members of the Central American Parliament and 262 mayors. The result was a landslide victory for Nuevas Ideas with pro-Bukele parties winning a supermajority of seats. Central American Parliament
The Central American Parliament ( es, Parlamento Centroamericano), also known as PARLACEN, is the political institution and parliamentary body of the Central American Integration System (SICA). Its headquarters are in Guatemala City. History The PARLACEN origins date back to the Contadora Group, a project of the 1980s that sought to help resolve the civil wars in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Although the Contadora group was disbanded in 1986, the idea of a greater Central American integration remained, giving rise to the Esquipulas II Agreement, which among other things, created the Central American Parliament. Gender identity is the personal sense of one's own gender. Gender identity can correlate with a person's assigned sex or can differ from it. In most individuals, the various biological determinants of sex are congruent, and consistent with the individual's gender identity. Gender expression typically reflects a person's gender identity, but this is not always the case. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process. Additionally, they may undergo sex reassignment therapies such as hormone therapy and sex reassignment surgery to more closely align their primary and secondary sex characteristics with their gender identity. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other non-cisgender or non-heterosexual (LGBT) persons in El Salvador face legal and social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity of all genders are legal in El Salvador, but same-sex couples and households headed by same-sex couples are not eligible for the same legal protections available to opposite-sex married couples.
