Nuestra Belleza México 2001
The 8th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Aeropuerto Internacional "Lic. Adolfo López Mateos" of Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico on September 28, 2001. Forty-seven contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Ericka Cruz from Yucatán, who later competed in Miss Universe 2002 in Puerto Rico. Cruz was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Jacqueline Bracamontes. She is the first and only Yucateca and the third winner of foreign descent (she is Afro-Mexican) to win this Title. The Nuestra Belleza Mundo México title was won by Tatiana Rodríguez from Campeche, who later competed in Miss World 2001 in South Africa. Rodríguez was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza Mundo México titleholder Paulina Flores. She is the first and only Campechana to win this Title. Mexicana Universal Sinaloa is a pageant in Sinaloa, Mexico, that selects that state's representative for the national Mexicana Universal. Sinaloa is the third State in Mexico that has produced more crowns in the history with 5 crowns. Nuestra Belleza Jalisco
Mexicana Universal Jalisco is a pageant in Jalisco, Mexico, that selects that state's representative for the national Mexicana Universal pageant. Jalisco is considered one of the strongest states in Mexican pageantry, as they are almost always among the finalists. Jalisco is the first state that has produced more winners of Nuestra Belleza México/Mexicana Universal in history. With 5 Nuestra Belleza México crowns (now Mexicana Universal), 3 of them being consecutive years 2008, 2009, 2010. ''Nuestra'' is the debut studio album of the Venezuelan rock band La Vida Bohème, released in August 2010. Recorded and produced by Rudy Pagliuca, it is a free download on the website of the record label All of the Above. The album was nominated for "Best Latin Pop, Rock or Urban Album" in the 54th Annual Grammy Awards#Latin, 54th Grammy Awards. The two singles from this album are "Radio Capital" and "Danz!". Mexican Universal Chihuahua is a pageant in Chihuahua, Mexico, that selects that state's representative for the national Mexicana Universal pageant. In 2005 was not sent to a State Representative. Miss World 2001, the 51st edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 16 November 2001 at the Super Bowl of Sun City Entertainment Centre in Sun City, South Africa. 93 contestants from all over the world competed for the title. Priyanka Chopra of India crowned her successor Agbani Darego of Nigeria at the end of the event. This is the first time Nigeria won the title of Miss World. The Miss World 2001 contest was originally set to be held in Durban, but later changed the venue to Sun City.
