Nudist Colony Of The Dead
''Nudist Colony of the Dead'' is a 1991 horror comedy musical film written and directed by Mark Pirro (who has also worked under the names Marky Dolittle and Marky Elfman). The film was shot on Super-8 film and produced on a budget of $35,000. In the film, a group of nudists is forced off their land by religious zealots, and then commits mass suicide. Five years later, the nudists rise from the grave and seek revenge against the religious bigots. Storyline "Sunny Buttocks Nudist Colony" is shut down by Judge Rhinehole and his band of religious zealots for offending the local community. The nudists decide to protest by entering into a suicide pact, vowing to return one day to terrorize the people who took over their land. Five years later, a bunch of kids are sent to the ex-nudist colony, which has now been transformed into a religious retreat. Mark Pirro (director)
Mark Pirro (born July 1956) is an American director, writer, and editor. After making ''A Polish Vampire in Burbank'' (1983) for just $2,500 and seeing it gross more than half a million dollars in sales, Pirro became a major figure in independent cinema. Having written and begun directing the film himself, he would also star in it following the departure from the production of '' Grease'' star Eddie Deezen. Pirro went on to direct such films as ''Deathrow Gameshow'' (1987), ''Curse of the Queerwolf'' (1988), '' Nudist Colony of the Dead'' (1991), and '' Buford's Beach Bunnies'' (1993), the lattermost of which was the film debut of Jim Hanks. He also wrote ''My Mom's a Werewolf'' for Crown International Pictures. Peter Dendle
Peter Dendle is a professor of English at Penn State Mont Alto, teaching classes on folklore, 20th and 21st century representations of the Middle Ages, Old and Middle English (language and literature), and the monstrous (in film, folklore, and society). Dendle has written books and articles on a number of topics, including cryptozoology, philology, the demonic in literature, zombie movies, and Medieval plants and medicine. His work on zombies was featured by NPR. Career His education includes a B.A. in English and Philosophy (1990) and an M.A. in Philosophy (1993), both from the University of Kentucky, as well as an M.A. in English from Yale (1991) and a PhD in English from the University of Toronto (1998).
