Nude Fear
''Nude Fear'' is a 1998 Hong Kong psychological horror-thriller film directed by Alan Mak, starring Kathy Chow as a homicide detective pursuing a recently resurfaced serial killer who raped and killed her mother 23 years before. The film is Mak's directorial debut. Plot Joyce Chan Ching-yee (Kathy Chow), a 28-year-old superintendent of the Homicide Bureau. While investigating a horrific rape-murder, she immediately recognises the killer's modus operandi — it's the same one used by the man who murdered her mother 23 years before. Chan's investigation leads to the capture of Lee Chun-min ( Sam Lee), who confesses to the murder of Chan's mother and several other women. Lee was arrested years before, but was released without a trial. As Lee is only 23, Chan is convinced an older serial killer is still on the loose, but the investigation come to an abrupt halt when Lee kills himself. Alan Mak (director)
Alan Mak Siu-fai (; born 1 January 1965), is a Hong Kong writer, director, actor and producer. Early life In 1965, Mak was born in Hong Kong. Education In 1986, Mak studied at the School of Drama in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Upon graduation in 1990, he started his movie career. Career Mak made his directorial debut in 1997, with his first film being '' Nude Fear'', which was written and produced by Joe Ma. After that, Mak directed further films such as '' Rave Fever'', ''A War Named Desire'', ''Final Romance'' and ''Stolen Love'', which would be his first collaboration with writer Felix Chong. In 2002, Mak and Chong wrote their first script together. The movie was ''Infernal Affairs'', which was produced by Mak's directing partner, Andrew Lau, who also served as cinematographer.
