Kyaw Hein
Kyaw Hein (, ; born Kyaw Htay, 14 July 1947 – 11 July 2020) was a Burmese actor, film director and singer. He is the five-time winner of the Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards. He starred in and directed hundreds of films, and was considered one of the most important actors in Burmese cinema. He retired in 2008, and became a Theravada Buddhist monk, with the Dharma name (ကိတ္တိသာရ). He died as a monk on July 11, 2020 in Canberra, Australia. Early life Kyaw Hein was born on July 14, 1947 on the Kyaung Kone Road in Sanchaung township. His father was a retired District Police Chief named John Maung Sein ( DYSP) and his mother was a housewife named Cho Cho. He is the fourth child of six children. Kyi Kyi Htay ( my, ကြည်ကြည်ဌေး, ; 19 March 1924 – 4 March 2000) was the first winning actress of the Myanmar Academy Award for the Best Female Artiste Award (now Best Actress Award) in 1952. Being a versatile actress in the golden Burmese film world, she was awarded the title ''Wunna Kyawhtin'' by the government. Early life Kyi Kyi Htay was born in a small town of Letbadan in Bago Division in Lower Burma to U Po Yin and Daw Ohn Kywe. She was the youngest among five siblings. Her original name was Ma Thein Kyin. Career Kyi Kyi Htay took part in Burmese traditional opera, Zat Thabin, since her childhood and became famous under the name Aung Mya Kyin, Auk Chin Ma and Marla Yi. She crossed over to films in 1952, and won her first Burmese Academy Award with her debut film Chit Thet-Wai. She won three more Academy Awards in 1956, 1970 and 1978. Sandar ( my, စန္ဒာ; 22 March 1949 – 23 December 2006) was a Burmese actress. She won the Myanmar Academy Award for Best Actress in 1967 with the film ''Nhaitmwa Athel''. Early life Sanda was born on March 22, 1949 in Rangoon, Burma to parents Mya Maung and Marla Myint. Her birth name is San San Shin (စန်းစန်းရှင်). She is the fourth oldest of her siblings. Her siblings are Khin Oo Maw, Win Mar, Toe Nyunt, Sanda and Mya Zaw (Fuji). They are also works in film industry. Career While Sanda was studying at Basic Education High School No. 2 Sanchaung she would star in a number of films as a child actor with her staged named Sanda. Kyauk Lone ( my, ကျောက်လုံး; ; also spelt as Kyauk Lon) was three-time Myanmar Academy Award-winning Burmese actor. He was the first recipient of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in the Burmese film industry. The Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards are presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Burmese Film Industry of Myanmar.
