Novy Redant
Novy Redant (russian: Новый Редант. inh, Керда Редант, ''Kerda Redant'') is a rural locality (a '' selo'') in Malgobeksky District of the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. Population: History The history of Novy Redant can be traced back to the time after the 1944 deportation of Chechens and Ingush and the abolishment of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. At that time, the site of the current village was formed into the Ossetia feed farm, which was later renamed as the Alkhanchurtsky feed farm and was a part of the North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1959, the village of Alkhanchurtsky state farm was officially renamed to Novy Redant by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR. Types Of Inhabited Localities In Russia
The classification system of inhabited localities in Russia and some other post-Soviet states has certain peculiarities compared with those in other countries. Malgobek
Malgobek (russian: Малгобе́к; Ingush: , ''Maghalbike'') is a town in the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia, located northwest of the republic's capital of Magas. Population: History In 1934, the '' selo'' of Voznesenskoye was granted work settlement status. It served then recently discovered oilfields, on the territory of former Ingush villages of Malgobek-Balka () and Chechen-Balka (). Town status was granted to it in 1939. During World War II, Malgobek was occupied by the German forces from Saturday, September 12, 1942 to January 3, 1943, when it was recaptured by the Red Army. Magas
Magas (russian: Мага́с) is the capital town of the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. It was founded in 1995 and replaced Nazran as the capital of the republic in 2002. Due to this distinction, Magas is the smallest capital of a federal subject in Russia. In 2019, it had a population of 8,771 inhabitants, up from 5,841 in 2010 and 272 in 2002. History The Republic of Ingushetia came into existence in 1992, having been split from the Chechen–Ingush ASSR. Nazran, the largest of three towns of the new republic, was made a temporary capital.
