Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University
Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (NSPU; russian: Новосибирский государственный педагогический университет, abbreviated ФГБОУ ВО «НГПУ») is a coeducational and public research university located in Novosibirsk, Russia. It is the largest pedagogical university in Siberia and the Far East, with 13,500 students (FTEs) as of 2020. The current rector of the university is Gerasyov Alexey Dmitrievich. The university cooperates with 64 educational institutions in 22 countries. Between 1941 and 1943 the university moved to Kolpashevo, Tomsk Oblast. Since 2011, the university has published ''Science for Education Today'', formerly the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University Вulletin, a peer-reviewed research periodical. Tomsk Oblast (russian: То́мская о́бласть, ''Tomskaya oblast'') is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). Kolpashevo
Kolpashevo (russian: Колпа́шево) is a town and the administrative center of Kolpashevsky District in Tomsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Ob River. Population: History It has existed since the beginning of the 17th century as a village. Town status was granted to it in 1938. Mass grave During the Great Purge, Kolpashevo was the site of mass executions carried out by the NKVD, with the corpses of those executed being disposed of in mass graves. In May 1979 meandering of the Ob river caused a mass grave containing more than 1,000 mummified corpses to become exposed. A number of cover-stories were issued by the local government, first that these bones were cattle bones, and then that these were the bodies of deserters from the Second World War.
