Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug
Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug (russian: Новомосковский административный округ), is one of the twelve administrative okrugs of Moscow. The okrug was created on July 1, 2012. The administrative center of Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug is the town of Moskovsky. Administrative Okrugs Of Moscow
The federal city of Moscow, Russia is divided into administrative districts called okrugs, which are a subdivision of state administration. The administrative okrugs are further divided into municipal formations called districts (''raions'') and settlements (''poseleniy''), which are local self-government entities. Overview Administratively, the city is divided into 12 administrative okrugs, which in turn are subdivided into 146 administrative units. Municipally, each of the 146 administrative units have municipal status as 125 municipal districts and 21 municipal settlements. On July 1, 2012, Moscow's land area grew by 1,490 sq km (580 sq mi), taking in territory from Moscow Oblast and called New Moscow. Due to their former municipal status within the territory which became New Moscow, the municipal settlements of Shcherbinka and Troitsk are styled "municipal okrugs." Shcherbinka (russian: Ще́рбинка) is a town, formerly in Moscow Oblast, Russia, and since July 1, 2012 a federal city subject (settlement) of Moscow, Russia.
