Andrija Novakovich (born September 21, 1996) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Italian club Venezia. Career Youth Born and raised in Muskego, Wisconsin to Serbian parents, Novakovich spent his youth career with United Serbians, Red Star, and Chicago Magic. Josip Novakovich (Croatian: ''Novaković'') is a Croatian Canadian writer. Early life and education Josip Novakovich was born in Yugoslavia (in 1956) and grew up in the central Croatian town of Daruvar. Novakovich studied medicine at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. He left Yugoslavia to avoid service in the Yugoslav People's Army, and moved to the United States at the age of 20. He continued his education at Vassar College (B.A.), Yale Divinity School (M.Div.), and the University of Texas, Austin (M.A.).
